What is the point of this forum? In my short involvement with it, I sense that my views are unpopular, or perhaps uninteresting. However, I have at least played by the rules, which is more than I can say for various others who have responded to my posts.
I’ve read much in my short time here, and I am delighted by the eloquence and intelligent comment that I see. I have noticed though, that all discussion is centred around an external God.
Whether there is or isn’t a God, is putting the issue outside of ourselves and not taking responsibility for the situation. But I suppose this is the only way you can debate about something...
To any degree there is debate, means there is no presence of true knowledge. It’s all starting to make sense to me now. People say that they want the truth, but they don’t, but they do really. Just like what I thought, and asked, when I entered the forum. The Truth spoils the Mind Game. The Truth is so immediate that people can’t see it. It is too fast. Too obvious.
Only when we take responsibility for God, can there be peace. Because the up side of debate is fun (challenge, enjoyment …), and there is a potential for learning, but the down side is disagreement which leads to violence, and ultimately war and suffering.
Until we take responsibility for God, we are destined to the eternity of duality, the good and the bad of living. This is not God’s world.
God’s world works beautifully, and it is begging your attention to realise it in your life.
Only until we take responsibility for God, by living the immediacy of Him, can we be in His Home, as His idea for Man on Earth. All of this is beyond the mind of course, or at least what the mind calls the mind.
Thankyou Otseng for creating this sight. You have helped me see this. I have read many of your posts, and I see what your doing is Good. God bless you. The creative force is strong.
And thankyou to all the other players (many of which weren’t even aware of the play)

Post #2I have to admit, I re-read your post and I still can't understand what you're trying to say.Harrison wrote: To any degree there is debate, means there is no presence of true knowledge. Now, In regards to the above I quoted. Yes, there is debate, how does that rule out true knowledge? Of course no one here knows the exact answer to the question of God's existence, but there's no shortage of evidence to use to come to a reasonable conclusion that will satisfy yourself. If the truth is so immediate and too obvious then more people than just you should be seeing it. It doesn't seem to be that way.

Harrison,
It seems like you are still sorting out what you believe. Your
posts seem more like discussions than debate <-- observation not critique
I get the distinct feeling that I'm playing philosophical hangman when
participating in your thread(s).
I appreciate your quest for knowledge...however, the way you have chosen
to market yourself comes off as kind of smug. That may just be confidence
in your beliefs, but it's probably not the best way to engage people.
If you think people have been uncivil...read more posts...
I'd suggest participating in some threads...get to know people and
let people get to know you. That way they are more likely to invest time
in non-debate discussions.

I think if anything can be learned from the discussions on these forums it is the remarkable duality or polar symmetry between the theistic and atheistic world-views. For example the fine-tuning of the physical constants necessary for a universe in which we could eventually emerge can be explained equally well by God's hand or by this universe being one of many (serially or simultaneously). The same goes for every nuance of the world around us... we can marvel at how good the food we get from nature tastes, or the warmth of the sun suits us... or we can say we simply wouldn't be here if the food was poison or the sun was too hot/cold.
Nothing about the nature of these things can reveal if they are due to divine action or are simply being seen with the benefit of hindsight. We can attempt to rationalize either view by overlaying a personality and seeing if it fits, but ultimately this is a purely subjective exercise.

I would says we need to take responsibility in realizing that God might or might not be there. Either way the world is the world and as a species we have taken charge of it. Everything we do should be done in our own name for the benefit of everyone. Until then, people will continue to act on the basis that God has given them authority to do so at the expense of others.Harrison wrote: Until we take responsibility for God, we are destined to the eternity of duality, the good and the bad of living. Post #5I welcome you Harrison and would like to hear what you have to say. I came off as impatient earlier. Was not my intention.
