Origin of non-christian religions

Post by wx47 »

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask question about origin of non-christian religions (this is my first post :-), I'm christian )
OK - so I've been thinking and idea came:
As a christian, I believe in God, his creation of universe . There are, however, other religions such as buddhism, taoism, muslim, etc.
They don't believe in God *AND* because God is one who created universe (and they don't believe in him), their gods doesn't exist. Because there is good (God) and then evil (absence of God) - and they don't believe in him, are they product of evil (I mean those religions) ?
Are they work of evil to draw attention not to God, but to something other ?
OK, and last question - (if answer to last question is yes) - are those people evil / bad becouse there are spreading their non-christian religion ? (maybe there don't mean to do bad thing - they believe that they are doing good, but unknowingly doing bad)

(DISCLAIMER: I do not want to harass or find excuse to disdain non-christian people, I just want to know answer to stated questions)

Many thanks

Adurumus wrote:A very nice response, thank you. Sorry if I'm not very sensitive, yours is a culture unfamiliar to me. My points will be taken from this web page. It is the official web site of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Red quotes are from the Qur'an (translated in to English), blue quotes are from the website.

One argument I've heard from many Christians is that Christianity uniquely has some principles, therefore it's more correct. The same can be said of Islam, however, as words in the Qur'an have correctly stated some of the natures of our universe. The fact that it's alluded to in the Qur'an means that it's true, at least in the Muslim faith, and therefore acceptable.
And the heaven We built with Our own powers (aydin) and indeed We go on expanding it (musi'un).1
Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass (ratqan), then We clove them asunder (fataqna)? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?2
The first refers to the fact that the universe is ever expanding, and the second both talks about the big bang and black holes. Therefore, you should accept these as truths if it must be stated in the Qur'an to happen.

Now to the good part: Earth's movement.
The mountains that you see, you think they are stationary while they are constantly floating like the floating of clouds. Such is the work of Allah Who made everything firm and strong...8
If the mountains are declared to be in constant motion, then the only logical inference to be drawn from this would be that the earth is also rotating along with them.
What this means is that they're rotating. Things above appear to move, things below don't. Everything is in a constant state of some sort of motion. Not to mention the phrase "orbit":
... everything is gliding along smoothly in its orbit.12
This all-embracing statement covers the entire universe, our solar system being no exception. In addition to this, there are many other verses which mention the elliptical movement of all the heavenly bodies.
One bit that you mentioned is that the Sun moves. This verse, right?
And the sun is constantly moving in the direction of its ultimate abode of rest. This is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
But the moon, too, must move.
If it were only the sun which was moving in a fixed direction, the verse which follows this statement would not have proclaimed that the sun and the moon strictly maintain their mutual distance; they will never be able to gain or move away from each other, an unchangeable destiny till their appointed time
And since the moon isn't moving away from the Earth (or at least, not too far away yet), the Earth has to move as well. I haven't shown that the Earth revolves around the Sun yet, but can you see that it states the the Earth moves, and even rotates?
Hello brother,

Don't believe all what you read blindly.

For the Ayah about the one mass then cloved asunder, this is not big bang, brother.
Is there a connectio between "mass cloved asunder" and "big bang"???!!!
They contradict each other.
Take care

For The Ayah about mountains, Allah describes a scene from the last Day not now.
Here is the Ayah and the Ayah before:

87. And on the Day the Trumpet will be blown, then alarmed is whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth, excepting whomever Allah decides (to exempt), and every one will come up to Him, all (utterly) abject.
88. And you see the mountains, that you reckon inert, and (really) they pass by like clouds- the handiwork of Allah, Who has consummated everything; surely He is Ever-Cognizant of whatever you perform. [27:87/88]

And for the last Ayah, here is the Ayah and the after it:

37. And a sign for them is the night; We strip the daytime from it, and so, only then they are in darkness (Literally: darksome).
38. And the sun runs to a repository for it; that is the determining of The Ever-Mighty, the Ever- Knowing.
39. And the moon, We have determined it by phases, till it becomes again (Literally: goes back) like the old date-stalk.
40. It does not behoove the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the daytime, and each is swimming in an orbit.
[36:37/40]

These are better translations, concerning the blue, throw them in the Nile, they are weak meaningless words.

There is no verses in Quran, they are Ayats not verses.

May I know you religion? What is the aim behind these questions?

Islam is not unique, Islam the religion of all prophets.

Islam is the only right religion and the only religion supported with a miracle because it is the religion of Allah.

Do you know what is the meaning of Islam? What is the meaning of Quran?
What do you know about Quran?

Finally, why Islam is the only right religion?

All the best

I'm an Atheist, personally. I know very little of Islamic culture or the Qur'an. What I do know, however, is that the Earth indeed revolves around the Sun. No amount of holy text will change my perception, nor reality, of the situation. All I'm trying for, here, is to show you that your book does not contradict this fact. If it can take credit for explaining it, all the better. Is there any thing I can show you to prove that this phenomena happens as I have described it, though? It'd be a shame to give up on a large group of people because of how they interpret a chosen book.

Don't worry :D
The majority of Muslims are well aware that the earth revolves around the sun, and that the moon revolves around the earth .. ask your local
'muslim doctor' in the hospital

I must admit .. I get sick of this idea that Jews have their god and Muslims have theirs, and they are somehow different.
How clever satan is in causing enmity .. still, no point in giving up .. satan will lose in the end.

Nobody knows who is going to paradise (heaven) and who is going to hell .. an atheist might go to heaven, and a believer might go to hell .. how is that?? (I hear happy exclaim) :)

It's a hadith of the prophet Muhammad (peace be with him) !!

Ooh, I didn't expect that from you.

You are a Muslim, brother. How can you follow the words of man only because you've studied so since your early age? Even this will not make your claim a truth, the only perfect truth is which written in Quran the words of Allah.

The God is The One for all, He is The Creator of all.
Allah is The God of Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus, idolators, atheists,,,,,,but

many of them leave The One and turn to worship their culture which they were born with it exactly like you when you believe that the earth revolves around the sun because you were feeded so. By time, culture turns facts in the minds of man but when he uses his pure mind, he turns to his nature which is Allah's made.

We are not the judge brother, Allah is The Judge and The Justice, we can't say this one will be in hell or that one will be in heaven.
May someone was born a Muslim but doesn't follow the orders of Allah and another born Christian and follow the orders of Allah by his nature.

But be sure brother, Who saw the clear evidence, and the truth became clear in front of him then rejected it till death, no other way for him in the Last Day but Hell.

"Verily Allah doesn't forgive to take partners with Him and forgive otherwise to whom He wills"

Islam is not culture and will never be.

Your ideas are culture, Quran is facts.

But how you follow an idea in that way even if it is not the reality??

Show me an evidence if you can, and you will never find.

I can show you the irrefutable evidence the strongest evidence on earth, a miracle.

Salam,
- a bit more than that, brother .. we only have to travel in an aeroplane and observe time differences and so on :)

Yes, of course this is completely right

Yes .. ascribing partners (shirk) is very serious indeed .. and Almighty God is aware of that which is in the 'hearts' (minds) of mankind

Are you still insisting in following an idea blindly and rejecting the words of Allah?!!

In the plane, what can you see? the earth revolves or the sun revolves???

Start from the beginning, start from Quran.

May Allah be with you

My ideas? They're hardly my ideas at all, I didn't come up with them! Many many astronomers from many many ages have discovered and designed on this fact, and it has become the basis for much of astronomy!

Look; go outside at night and stare at the stars. Then wait a month, and look for the same stars. They moved, right? Now wait, and wait and wait until a year is up. The stars will be back in to place. That means that either A) The entire universe revolves around the Earth or B) The Earth is moving so that it is viewing different stars on different months. Which is more likely?

If the Earth is moving as to get a better view, it can't just be moving back and forth. Because the distance between the Earth and the Sun changes very little over the course of the year, they have to be revolving around one another. If the Earth was immobile and just the Sun revolved, the stars would not change their position. If the Earth moved around the sun, it would explain this perfectly.

No .. of course I'm not rejecting 'the words of Allah'.

Tell me something .. do you believe that astronomers have got any sense? Do you not understand anything about solar sytems and the reason why planets are in orbit .. or the observation of gravitational fields in relation to mass and so on?

It's important to realise that knowledge comes from many sources, and to read the Qur'an with little general knowledge might cause us to misunderstand or misinterpret. A broad education is imperative, and you will find that Muslim doctors, who have a good academic background in science do not have difficulty in keeping a strong faith in 'Allah' alongside their profession.

Thank you brother for the strong evidence you provide.

Really this is the clear evidence that the earth is the center and the seven heavens are layers around it.

The sun revolves around the earth, I found it in the Quran.

"And you might have seen the sun when it rose, declining from their cave towards the right; and when it set (west), it went past them towards the left while they were in a broad fissure of (the cave). That was one of the signs of Allah. Whomever Allah guides, then he is right-guided, and whomever He leads away into error, then you will never find for him a right-minded patron." [18:17]

Stars retreat:
"And for part of the night also praise thou Him and at the retreat of the stars! (49)" [52:49]

Stars and night and day and the sun and the moon were all created for us:
"And He has subjected to you the night, and the daytime, and the sun, and the moon. And the stars are subjected to His Command. Surely in that are indeed signs for a people who consider." [16:12]

Returning to your given strong evidence that the sun and the moon and stars are created for us, regardless of all what we've been taught at schools since young age and start from the beginning, let's start from mind and nature.

We are stable, we see the sun revolving, we see the moon revolving, we are stable. We see stars moving, we are stable.

Now what is the evidence of that?
The evidence is your evidence!!!

The stars are the evidence. If you claim that the earth has its orbit and the sun has another orbit and every star has its orbit, then nothing will seem to be the same and repetitive.

If the sun revolves then we revolve with it, how can we see stars fixed at one ???
If stars revolve each in a different orbit, why stars are fixed at one shape??
If the earth moves around itself, why the movement of water and air is not affected?

We are the center, the sun revolves around the earth, the moon revolves around the earth, stars move too and they are all created for us.

You didn't ask me about my strong irrefutable evidence. Are you not keen to know The Miracle that challenges all people at the age of mind??
