Deletion Request

Please delete my account. I thought I was making a contribution here. But I realize my time here has only distracted me from my true purpose and contributed to negativity in my life.

I vote to rescind the request on the grounds the lady has contributed greatly to my own understanding.

If you feel that participation in this forum affects your life negatively, then perhaps this is the right decision.

As far as thinking you're not making a contribution, however, I don't think it is. I hardly think weve had much in the way of positive interaction, but suffice to say that I do value your contributions to quite a few of the debates going on right now.

I hope you'll at least give this a few more days thought.

I am going to give it some more thought. Maybe I just need a break.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of those asking you to stay. I was experiencing the same feelings of futility as you -- look at the thread a few down from yours -- but others convinced me to hang around because I AM being heard and making a difference.

That doesn't mean that I don't intend to sharply limit my time here in the future, and to avoid threads where I will clearly find myself doing this -- ](*,) -- but I don't have to bail out entirely.

I've found that my satisfaction with posting is in inverse proportion to the amount of time I spend here; the more I post, the less worthwhile it seems, and when I spend hours a day working on posts, I feel like I'm swimming in mud.

Pick your shots and ignore the blockheads -- but stay. Please.

Tell you what: When the time comes, we'll leave this place together -- and form a support group for recovering members.

Who else is in?
