Hi all,
I'm new here and have just read up on the policies and finished my signature, etc. I hope I've done everything correctly so far.
I would like to believe in an almighty power but the problem is that in my research I've found so many gods out there. Coming from a family that has been explicitly atheist for generations, I'm starting from scratch and am looking at all religions.
I am sincerely curious to know how would I know, for instance, that your god is the one, true God?
Thank you.
Help: How do I know that your God is the one, true God?

I don't remember him claiming that he had the answer to some mathematical question.arian wrote:My God of the Bible 'is the One True God', and if you were me, you would know that. Here, please answer me this: "How would I know that your answer of '4' to a mathematical question is the right answer? There are thousands, and even millions of mathematical questions out there, how would I know that yours is the right one?"... huh, .... how would I know that?
Unlike you:
My God of the Bible 'is the One True God'
You can give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day, or you can teach a man to pray for fish and he will starve to death.

If you are unable to demonstrate that what you believe is true and you absolve yourself of the burden of proof, then what is the purpose of your arguments? - brunumb

I don't remember me explaining to him that 'my God is the One True God' when he posted this OP "How do I know that your God is the one, true God?" either.Clownboat wrote:I don't remember him claiming that he had the answer to some mathematical question.arian wrote:My God of the Bible 'is the One True God', and if you were me, you would know that. Come on Clownboat, ... just admit you are lost here. You make very little or no sense in your posts to me, but are just hunting me, following me around to try to rouse me, which is against forum rules. ... well for most of us anyways.Clownboat wrote:Unlike you:

I still love you though, and would love to meet you someday ... before 'That Day' of the Lord.

Post #573Let me ask you a question.... How can a god forbid self worship (since he is the only one we would be permitted to worship) without being guilty of hypocrisy? He would be violating his own rule of law by commanding us to worship him. He would be in essence saying..."do as I say and not as I do." Christianity is the only religion that can remedy this problem.Kir Komrik wrote: Hi all,

“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

That seems like a polythestiic interpretation of things.
And, doesn't resolve what you think is an issue.

Post #577The Christian God is one God who manifests into two sub-forms. None of the manifestations is permitted to engage in self worship. Really??? That seems to be a large claim. Can you show it to be true.
Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu are all part of the same Godhead, and their worship was hundreds of years before Christianity (or even Judaism).

I didn't think so yet I doubt that you have a problem with science making the claim. I can use historical writings to back up my claim. Now where did the first cell come from?He does?? He is??
Really??? That seems to be a large claim. Can you show it to be true.Christianity has its roots in Judaism. Judaism is 6000 years old according to Hebrew geneology. How old are these religions and how do you know?

I guess the same way they know the universe is expanding, ... or wait, is it receding? If it's receding than T=0 more than 13 billion years ago must have been very, very big, and not so small that it fit into 'nothing'. Anyways, I guess they use background radiation to determine who came first; Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu, or the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? I mean who can argue with such technology as background radiation to reveal the past? We only have the Bible.
