the way No evidence no belief, is going with topics....It's just a matter of time until he hit us Christian with the line that destroy all faith in God.
Let's see how long it will take.

Ankhhape states:What I say about this; is there cannot be an omnipotent/omniscient deity because the idea when scrutinized becomes irrational and impossible.
Assisigirl: Read your words. The theists have no ultimatum to be logical. You have just stated that a belief in a God must stand up to logical scrutiny. How absurd, you need a hobby.

Hi Ankhhape,
I have decided to re-examine your homework here.
Ankhhape:
Examples of the Abrahamic god referring to Himself in an omnipotent way:
Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Genesis 18:13-14 Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?' (14) Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."
Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God."
Assisigirl:
None of the above either literally or contextually points towards the conclusion of omnipotence. It all contains variants of the same theme, ie he's some God for one God. Everything is possible within God is not to state that God can or would do everything. You are capable of crossing the road with your eyes shut but you probably never will for obvious reasons, ankhhape. Would you pack a rucksack that you could not carry.
The Jews and the Christians and indeed the Muslims talk up their God in these ways which contain their admiration for their God without needing to be logically coherent to anyone. He's some man for one man. He's a wonder God and they are Awemen so to speak. What's your problem, leave them to it. This aspect of God worship actually makes more sense to me because of its human emotive nature than does the more considered practices of ritual and iconography. Imagine a God that sits on a throne. Now that is logically weird. The alpha male so to speak. Shouldn't he be on a branch?

Omniscience is the capacity to know everything that there is to know.assisigirl wrote: Hi Ankhhape,

Omnipotence is unlimited power.
You don't see those quotes alluding to both of these (mostly omnipotence)?

If this God is said to be trustworthy, benevolent, and righteous, then it would be impossible for this God to do anything that is untrustworthy, non-benevolent, or unrighteous.Ankhhape wrote: Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God."[/u]
Yet the Biblical God is shown to have done all of these things. According to the Christians his own Son couldn't even trust him to protect him from being crucified.
So this God is necessarily untrustworthy. But then it would be impossible for him to become trustworthy because it's an oxymoron to claim to be both trustworthy and untrustworthy simultaneously.
My question to the Christians is really quite simple. "Can I trust your God to LOVE me?"
If you answer saying, "Yes", then I clearly have no fear of this God sending me to hell because to do such a thing would be a totally unloving act.
On the other hand if you answer saying, "No", then you have just confessed that your God is untrustworthy and I can't trust your God to love me.
So this religion can't be true. The God necessarily must be both trustworthy and untrustworthy simultaneously which make no sense.
So Christianity is necessarily a lie.

Yeah....The word "moronic" was the problem with that quote.
