Now, you can have your very own usergroup. Post in this thread the name that you'd like. I'll make sure the name conforms to the standards of this site and deduct 2500 tokens from you. Then, you'll be the owner and member of that usergroup. By default, people will be able to freely join your group. Or you can choose to confirm membership requests.
To request your personal usergroup, provide the following:
- Name of usergroup (40 character limit)
- Description (255 character limit)
- Note if you want to confirm membership from others (default will be no)
For an additional charge of 10,000 tokens, you can also have your own subforum for your usergroup. Please provide the following info:
- Name of usergroup (40 character limit)
- Description (80 character limit)
Subforum activity requirement:
- Subforums must maintain some activity in it. Subforums that do not have any activity for six months can get removed (posts made to simply bump threads do not count). There will be no refunds given for any subforums removed.
Additional restrictions:
- Do not add people to your group without their permission. Otherwise I will delete your group.
- Descriptions cannot point to personal websites. If a link is found to point to inappropriate and/or offensive material, the group will be deleted.
1/3/2011 Modification:
- Changed group price from 500 to 1000 tokens

Yeah I'd like to create another group:
Usergroup: Anti-theist
Description: For anyone who holds the position that un-evidenced beliefs (religions and superstitions, fundamentalist or otherwise) can be and are often harmful.
-----
For anyone who would like to know why I feel a need to have this term is because Atheism only indicates a lack of belief in god, nothing more. Under that definition a Buddhist monk could fit the criterion. If you have a problem with religion or fantastical, unsubstantiated beliefs even by those of the non-fundamentalist stripe, then you're an anti-theist.

I would like to request a usergroup called "Cooking Forum" solely for the purpose of adding a subforum called "Cooking Forum".
Description of the subforum; Cooking just for fun. Share recipes and discuss food, utensils, appliances, kitchens, anything having to do with cooking.

Questions on creating a Subforum?
How much power will I have over controlling who can post in a subforum that I create?
I would like to start a subform to share my views on Wicca with other people who are either curious about Wicca or who would also like to share their positive views on Wicca as well.
I also don't mind answering sincere questions being asked about the religion by people who don't embrace it. However, I have no interest in having to thwart off intentional hecklers who do nothing but post misrepresentations of what is being said just in an effort to cause mayhem and distraction.
So if I start a subforum can I control who posts there? And can I also kick someone back out if they prove to be too disruptive?

It would be controlled by who is in the usergroup. If you own the usergroup, then you can remove that person from the usergroup attached to the subforum. However, it also means that only people in that usergroup can only participate in the subforum and would not be open to all.Divine Insight wrote: How much power will I have over controlling who can post in a subforum that I create?

You can also have the subforum open to all, but report anything contrary to the rules that you establish in the subforum. And then a moderator can deal with it. This is what we do in the Judaism subforum.
