Post #12I accept that Muslims believe that. I accept Allah as another name for God or YHWH. He is the God of Abraham.southern cross wrote:Thanks for that. You accept that Muhammad is the last prophet of the one true god, Allah?YahDough wrote:How can I "reject" things that already exist. Many false things exist.southern cross wrote:Are you claiming that you don't reject either the "prophets" or "gods" I suggested? You didn't ask about what people "believe" you asked why Christ was rejected by some people.YahDough wrote:southern cross wrote:For the same reason that you reject Muhammad, Buddha, Joseph Smith, Charlie Russell, Jim Jones, Sun Myung Moon.YahDough wrote: Let's hear some reasons for such behavior.
Or perhaps for the same reason you reject Zeus, Aphrodite, Allah, Thor, Xenu.
Do you understand now?
How do you know what I reject?
It's what a person "believes" that makes the difference.
Jn:3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
If you don't reject those I listed, then you are indeed a strange christian. If you do, then you know why I reject Christ.
I just do not believe in them. Do you know what "believe in" means?
According to the words of Christ, who the Muslims regard as a prophet, a prophet must perish in Jerusalem. Muhammed did not perish in Jerusalem.
Lk:13:33: Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Post #13You accept Joseph Smith as a prophet of god after the last prophet Muhammad? That is an interesting concept. Would you care to explain?
Re: Why to people reject Christ?
Is your concept of everlasting life "bliss"?
Life more abundant perhaps, but everlasting bliss? Where does God promise this
Jn:10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Post #15What exactly do you man by 'reject'?YahDough wrote: Let's hear some reasons for such behavior.
Reject that he actually existed?
Reject his divinity?

I was more devout to Jesus than you could imagine. I could say the same to you. You just don't know the scriptures and there is something in your life that is keeping you from understanding the truth. You think you know Jesus but satan has caused you to mis your step.YahDough wrote:You gave credence to the Holy Ghost, but it doesn't appear you had Him. Or if you did have him in some measure, it certainly appears you lost Him. Lots of people fall away from Christ.Nickman wrote:Im sure if the holy ghost was real then 25 years of belief in it would have led me to the truth.YahDough wrote:That's interesting. Too bad the Holy Ghost wasn't helping you read.Nickman wrote: Unsubstantiated evidence, no supernatural events that can be verified, 2000 years of no return (even though the return was supposed to be very soon), I can refute the bible all day because I have read it 4 times and studied it on a collegiate level, and philosophically it is illogical.
1Cor:1:18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Acts:2:38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Re: Why to people reject Christ?
Post #17There are tonnes of statements that are true but I aren't certain about. There very likely many statements that I am certain about, but aren't infact true. We can then conclude that you are incorrect: Truth is not certainty.YahDough wrote: Truth IS certainty.
Yes.Is your concept of everlasting life "bliss"?
God promised bliss in Jn:10:10 apparently. I don't understand what point you are making, Life more abundant isn't bliss?Life more abundant perhaps, but everlasting bliss? Where does God promise this
Jn:10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

You had it rough Nickman. As a former Mormon you had to contend with a well written fiction book(BOM) along with the real deal. (Holy Bible). I don't blame you for rebellion. You are smarter than most Mormons. Unfortunately it appears you rebelled against everything pertaining to the truth of God and not just the cult.Nickman wrote:I was more devout to Jesus than you could imagine. What you have accused me of is your own testimony.
