Non-Circular reasons for believing in the Bible.

Post by help3434 »

I often see people quote Bible verses about scripture when asked why they believe in the Bible. Of course arguing that the Bible is true because the Bible says it is true is circular. Are there any non-circular reasons for believing in the Bible?

I presume that your answer to the OP is that you believe in the Bible because you like its promise of eternal life. Unfortunately wishful thinking does not make the Bible or any other promse of an after life true.

NO! I do not want to stay dead. I really wish someone had a scientifically tested way to prove I could withstand my own destruction. I don't doubt everyone on the planet thinks something similar.

Well there is a way for escaping, but you gotta have the faith to use it.

So, let me get this straight.

The thread is a 'non-circular reasons for beliving in the bible'

"If you believe in the bible you can live forever'

how do you know that

"It's in the bible'

sounds circular to me.

So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

What evidence do you have that believing the bible has an effect about 'staying dead'. Please provide it and show it's not circular.,.,,.,, as per rule 5
5. Support your assertions/arguments with evidence. Do not persist in making a claim without supporting it. All unsupported claims can be challenged for supporting evidence. Opinions require no support, but they should not be considered as valid to any argument, nor will they be considered as legitimate support for any claim.

"carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic" and just when will this activity begin? Visit a grave yard observe and recall "you shall SURELY die". Then by your own stated rule of observation "you shall SURELY die" still isn't true?
Stay dead the lot of you!
