Where do babies go after they die?
Post #1Corvus asked a question in another thread which is an interesting question to debate:

I guess we have to make a new post. I guess it would be "Is God's qualification for salvation or non-salvation logical?"BoatRocker wrote:I would never 'assume' anything so important as my eternal destiny. I'd search and research and study and ask questions until I had a good understanding of all the possibilites, then make the best informed choice possible. And that's exactly what I've done.concerro wrote: But you have to read the bible(do the research) to know how things work. There are to many sects of Christianity to just assume you were raised under the correct one, or are you going to say that we really dont need to know how things work only that they do work.
I've studied many religions and found them all the same: 'salvation' (in whatever form) is by works, i.e. good deeds, but they never tell you how many will be enough. The Bible is different in many ways. Ony the Bible's God is said to love and care for the whole world enough to pay for their sins. All other religions make the people bring their own sacrifices, but the God of the Bible provides the Sacrifice (Jesus) for us.
God has chosen to use his people as the means by which he tells the world about himself. He wrote down his words as the authority base to stand on, then those who know it are to tell others. That's what I'm here for.
You do have a good point about a definite qualification for salvation even if I dont like the qualification.

Gidday from kIWI LAND,
haven't read much of this thread the question caught my eye.
This is an Interesting Question., do babies go to heaven or hell when they die.
I,m going to wade in here with some thoughts,
first question here is "what is hell?"
Sounds like a dumb question I know but it will be interesting to see peoples reply.
We will take for granted what "heaven" is OK?
This is my understanding of "hell"
The English word hell means to cover e.g. as in HELmet (head cover)
there are 4 words in scripture that have been translated hell
SHEOL (hebrew word for grave)
HADES (greek for grave or pit)
geheena ( valley on the east(i think) side of Jerusalem) and
tartaros (meaning abyse deep valley)
When you die you are put in the ground and covered , you are put in "hell"
Jesus was in " Hell" for 3 days and the only way he came out of the grave(hell) was as a physical being .
For me when a baby dies it is buried "put in hell" , but and this but is a big but , the difference is that if the parents are believers , the baby is covered (sanctified) by their belief and will be ressurrected at the second coming of Jesus and the parents will get to raise them again .
But if the parents are not belivers (its More than likley the child would have followed them in their ways ,not always the case though) then the child will remain dead. (some will cry hey thats not fair!!!)
When you think about it its a big responsiblity that parents have.
I think this will stir some thing

fair to say that the child is covered by the believing parent.
1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. What if one is a beleiver and the other is not?

lets look at the logic. sometimes we are not given enough of the picture to prove our points and in this case that is true. no one can prove anything because there is very little about this subject. but that in and of itself speaks tons. if not much is written on a subject we must see that there is an inferance that it was obvious to those who wrote, spoke, and were inspired.
god must think this to be to obvious of a question to cover it.
what he has given us is this.
ot says that the son shall never pay for the sins of the father and vice-versa.
second jesus used a child as an object lesson to his students to tell them..."unless you become like this child you shall not inherit the kingdom of god.
third we see jesus tired and weary but the children flocked around him and when his disciples tried to stop them he corrected them by saying such is the kingdom of god.
we also understand that mark 16:16 says you must believe and be immersed to be saved and this is repeated in every conversion in the book of acts.
repentance and confession are seen many other places. so salvation is contigent on our actions never on anyone elses (doing away with infant immersion).
but this gap between these facts brings us to the logical inferance that those who do not have the ability to believe in their life times are innocent and pure. that they enter heaven. this was a given to those who wrote and spoke and were inspired.

Hey, I dunno if anybody already posted somethin' like this, but here it goes:
There is something in Christianity about the "age of accountability". There is a certain age (probably different for every person) when they are mature enough to really make a decision about Jesus. If someone dies before they reach that age, they automatically go to Heaven. So, babies go to Heaven. This also applies to severly mentally handicapped people (depending on individual circumstance) and probably covers REALLY insane people, too.
