Welcome!

It seems to me, that new members rarely post a introduction thread anymore. As such I am making this thread as a way that new members can say hi, and get to know a couple of people on the forums.

So to all the new members:

First of all, hello!

Second, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?
“People generally quarrel because they cannot argue.
- G.K. Chesterton

“A detective story generally describes six living men discussing how it is that a man is dead. A modern philosophic story generally describes six dead men discussing how any man can possibly be alive.
- G.K. Chesterton

Hello Good, and thank you very much for the welcome. It's good meeting you. I noted you are Atheist. I do look forward to great discussions. I'm very new here, not been here before, so I am a bit clumsy working my way around, so if you post something I am supposed to see, just hit me in the shoulder and get my attention for the first day or so... my attention for now is kinda divided lol.

Hi, I'm pakeha.
I'm insatiably curious about the origins of Christianity as well as 1st century culture in general and spend more time asking for information and sources than forming opinions or agendas.
I live in Spain, enjoy good food and good company.

Hi all.

As my username suggests, I'm an agnostic atheist.

I'm not 100% convinced by any claim, but I have a hunch that atheistic naturalism is the ultimate reality. However, I am open to other possibilities. A second, alternative possibility that I have a hunch is the ultimate reality, is immaterialism (it's non-falsifiable though, so I think it should only be a last resort when all other philosophical, scientific, and religious explanations have failed).

Looking forward to chatting and debating with yall!

Thanks for the invite to DC&R! My real name is Matt and anyone may feel free to address me as such.

I am currently employed as a truck driver, but I'm probably one of the most educated truck drivers you'll ever meet! I finished a BS in music and started to work on a ThM but was hired into full time ministry where I served for about 10 years. Went back to school in an attempt to finish my master's and re-enter ministry sometime ago, which did't work out unfortunately.

Now, again, I'm a very well educated truck driver (loving that by the way) and I fancy myself as a theologian, perhaps as my primary vocation (the truck driving just pays the bills!)

I've got a wife and two young kids and I'm living the American dream.

Peace! And I'm looking forward to engaging in ideas here with you all.

Greetings. New to the forum. Just a few introductory remarks.

I have never been active on any religiously oriented debate forum, so this will be quite new.

I am an independent, fundamental, Baptist pastor and have been in full-time ministry for over 35 years. I have "dabbled" in apologetics since college when I took a class studying the works of Francis Schaeffer.

Not sure how much I can add to the forum or how much time I'm going to be able to give to it, but let's give it a shot.

Welcome Dalekidd1956

We don't have too many who are currently in full-time ministry, your perspective will be most welcome. I do find it odd that one in full-time ministry claims to only have dabbled in apologetics. Isn't a logical and reasonable defense of why you believe what you believe central to your job?

I remember reading some of the works of Francis Schaeffer some decades ago and being quite impressed by him. He is head and shoulders above many of the current crop of populist apologetics such as Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, William Lane Craig and Ken Ham.
