I've just spent the afternoon with a relative who was introducing her 4-month-old son to our local section of the family.
The poor little blighter spent a lot of time pushing his hand into his mouth, screaming in pain.
Teething, it's called.
Who designed that?
Yet another ID challenge.

God's word is the scriptures in which the future is revealed, Isaiah 46:10 'Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done', clear evidence that it is from God.

We underestimate the seriousness of sin, God calls sin for what it is, Romans 6:23 'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Post #44Teething is painfull. I believe it became painful and is not the fault of the designer, rather the result of not following instructions given by the designer.Box Whatbox wrote: I've just spent the afternoon with a relative who was introducing her 4-month-old son to our local section of the family.

I am a mere human; far from Maximally smart. But if I designed something, and it turned out that every single user found a serious problem with it, such that their small children suffered serious hurt, do you think it would be acceptable for me to shrug my shoulders and say 'Not my fault'?
Wouldn't a skilled designer with any sense of compassion, care, or even just pride in his work, go back to the design, and if all it took was a small tweak, just fix it?
An almighty, all-knowing, all Merciful God could have made a small redesign to the infant mouth, centuries ago, if He chose to.
He clearly hasn't chosen to.
a) Is there a God who could, if He chose, make this small alteration to the gums of newborn babes?
b) If there is, why has He chosen instead to watch this suffering?
Does it please Him?

There was nothing wrong with the original design, he is more compassionate and caring than anyone in the universe, he could have stopped all teething pain, it does not please him to watch this suffering, he is all mighty, all knowing, he is allowing suffering in all its forms and dealing with the problem in such a way so that affliction will not arise a second time. I think someone needs to see the big picture to understand that teething pain is just a sympton, the problem of evil will soon be eradicated from the universe and there will be a return to the original plan where there will not be suffering of any kind.

Do you know what the 'original design' of the infant mouth was like? If so, how? Please share.
then why hasn't He?he is more compassionate and caring than anyone in the universe, he could have stopped all teething pain,
How do you know?it does not please him to watch this suffering,
Evidence?he is all mighty, all knowing, he is allowing suffering in all its forms and dealing with the problem in such a way so that affliction will not arise a second time.
Of what? That the infant mouth was not maximally-well designed?I think someone needs to see the big picture to understand that teething pain is just a sympton,
Explain the explicit connection between the suffering of very young children, and the 'problem of evil'. When you personally see a small child suffering these pains, do you think 'Serves him right. Cos, y'know, . . .Sin'. ?the problem of evil will soon be eradicated from the universe and there will be a return to the original plan where there will not be suffering of any kind.

I know the design of the infants mouth and everything else was good and there was no death of anything, suffering came as a result of evil. He has not stopped suffering on the Earth because the rest of the universe needs to see the result of sin so it will not rise up a second time. He is aquainted with all pain and suffering, his own son went through the very same teething pains. We are living at the close of time and much of what he predicted has already come to pass, this is evidence, and we can by faith believe the rest will also come to pass.
The suffering of the child does not have to be the result of sin on the part of the child or the parents. It is for a short time when compared to eternity and it will not come into mind. The rewards of heaven will eclipse any suffering here on the Earth. God is holding back the evil one, else it would be much worse. The evil one does exist, he is the one responsible.

That is what is known as 'Shoe horning a vague reference into prophecy'. Sorry.. that does not meet the criteria at all. That isn't evidence for God at all.
That doesn't even show what the prophecy is.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

There are many prophecies mentioned, we have not touched any of them, one in particular successfully predicted the kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and another kingdom which is in our future(You can read about this prophecy in Daniel chapter two). In the case of Babylon it even mentions the name of the General who conquered Babylon and the manner in which Babylon was conquered and predicted Babylon would never be rebuilt and to this day has not been rebuilt. Sadam Hussein claimed he was a descendant of Nebudchadnezzar(king of Babylon) and tried to rebuild Babylon but the war put an end to his plans.
