Don'cha know? Lying for Jesus is OK. Seriously ... I've pushed a few YECs to the wall, where they had nothing left, and that was their answer. Some (Mormons I've noticed especially) have it as part of their underlying religious theory.

There's an abundance of information there on the debate between YEC and evolution, including a lengthy video of a debate between Kent Hovind and Ben Waggoner presented by Creation Science Evangelism.
The video is representative of the attitude such sites have toward fairness in that during the debate, only Hovind's graphics are shown, none of Waggoner's.

It was amusing to see Hovind overreact and accuse Waggoner of an ad hominem for referencing Hovind's website about not paying income tax. I was even more amusing knowing Hovind is now in Federal prison for fraud, lying, and not paying his income tax. I suppose it's all part of The Great Secular Conspiracy to smother "The Truth" of YEC.

YEC's do employ questionable tactics. I've seen all the the usual suspects named: Ham, the Hovinds, Comfort, Comfort's little friend.

I haven't seen the youtubers mentioned: Venomfangx, Nephlimfree, Pendleton, Shock of God, and most of the others. They are willing to lie as well.

Venomfangx was the most popular Christian YEC on youtube, and he has had to make multiple apologies for his dishonest tactics, or be faced with legal actions. The atheists he attacked, out of the goodness of their hearts, were willing to give Venomfangx a way out that let him avoid possible jail time.

Good Grief! My excuse is Christian summer camp. We went every year. We ended up joking about common phrases used during the testimonials as people took turns throwing a piece of kindling on the campfire.* Most common:

"Last year I backslid, but...."

My sister, a recovering Southern Baptist, told me her true conversion happened while watching Mel Gibsons "Passion". I hadn't seen it yet, and asked her what about it was the 'clincher'. She said the clincher was that Jesus endured and suffered so much --FOR US, to save and redeem us. When I finally did watch this movie, I made it partway through, sickened and horrified by the orgy of blood and violence (not much of a horror film fan, here).

It's funny, what different people come away with after having experienced the same thing. The deepest attachments and yearnings of the individual can be 'seen' only when exposed to something that 'triggers' or activates the complex. What I got out of the Passion and what my sister got -- aversion versus the promise of salvation -- what the heck?
