Why Were the Angels So Angry?

I have a question for the group.

During the War in Heaven, 1/3 of all the Angels rebelled against God (And were thus damned to Hell). BUT: If 1/3 of all the Angels were so mad that they actually took the "action step" of taking up arms & waging war against God.... then surely, there were other Angels that were upset (or sympathetic) as well, but for whatever reason, weren't willing to take up arms.

No matter how you slice it, that's a LOT of upset Angels! If Heaven was a Democracy, whatever was going on, God would've been out-voted by a landslide.

So WHAT was going on, and WHY were so many of the Angels so mad, they'd actually take up arms against God? It had to be something that they perceived as exceptionally egregious.... because remember, they didn't just get upset, they got so upset that they were willing to risk damnation by FIGHTING against an all-powerful God.....???

I'm reading a new book that discusses this, and it really made me think..... would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanx!

I personally have had thoughts about what it is going to be like, to be fortunate enough to 'have a place' in the new Jerusalem. Even though Satan and 'death' are finally overcome, eternity is forever. Is there a possibility of future disagreement with God?

We are told in scripture, that God is a jealous God. When we consider the book of Revelation, we find that John was about to kneel down to an angel, but the angle stopped him from doing so. The angel basically told John that he [the angel] was like John, and must worship God.

The scriptures tell us, that there will be gnashing of teeth day and night, forever, for those who are separated from God. These people will be in torment and darkness, and cannot enter the gates of the new Jerusalem. The only light, will be from the throne of God, and this throne is in the new Jerusalem. Using the units of measure found today, I attempted to calculate the 'size' of this new Jerusalem. With length, width and height being equal, I come to each measurement being over 350 MILES. Revelation tells us, that those who are allowed to live in this new city, will never go out of the city. Think about this. We are talking about forever. It will be the FEAR of retribution by God, and the knowledge of those who suffer on the outside of the city, that will deter us from challenging God in eternity. However, with there being no 'evil' in the city, and being in a 'paradise', there is definite 'positive' motivation, to worship God.

That sounds horribly disgusting. And of course there's no "evil" in the city. God is the one defining he terms, there. Anyone who admits that God and heaven are evil at the core get banished. Those who agree that god's evil is good, get to stay. It'd be like Kim Jong Un only having residents who agree that all his evil deeds are really good. Win win.

They were upset because they were influence by one or a few angrls who thought they could do better than God. Besides that, its not a wrong on God's part that a lot of beings are ticked off at Him. The wrong would depend on the reason for there being upset and how they react from that anger. Surely, the number of people who are upset does not justify their actions because thats a logical fallacy, ie argumentum ad populum.

We really dont have all the pieces neither so at best you can justify being an agnostic on the issue.

What's the name of the book youre reading on this issue?
