It seems to me, that new members rarely post a introduction thread anymore. As such I am making this thread as a way that new members can say hi, and get to know a couple of people on the forums.
So to all the new members:
First of all, hello!
Second, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?
“People generally quarrel because they cannot argue. - G.K. Chesterton
“A detective story generally describes six living men discussing how it is that a man is dead. A modern philosophic story generally describes six dead men discussing how any man can possibly be alive. - G.K. Chesterton
I'm only an undergraduate student studying Computer Science right now, and I'm relatively new to both debate and online forums. I've been reading up on the site rules and various tip forums such as debating for beginners, but please feel free to make note of any mistakes in form (or logic, of course) that I happen to make.
I live in Texas, and belief-wise I mostly line up with what you’d expect knowing that. I’m a conservative Christian and have been all of my life. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m not willing to listen to others’ opinions and presented evidences for their own beliefs.
I’m joining this forum in hopes of learning more about my own faith and how to defend it, as well as to learn what you guys might think about my beliefs and evidences for such.
His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.

There's not much to say about myself. I'm a 26-yr-old humanoid deist/theist (with atheistic leanings, depending on my mood) who has had an intense interest in Christianity since around 2005 or so. (Assuming there is an Intelligence behind reality, and assuming said Intelligence is personal and revelatory--and that, therefore, some revealed religion is true--I feel the true religion would be the one that makes the most sense/lease nonsense and the one that's most well-known. Why do I think it's Christianity? Well, I don't know. That's something others have written about. It's more of a gut feeling for me. And if you realize that Islam simply piggy-backed off of Christianity and is, in essence, a warped form of Christianity, that makes for a wide audience of believers.) I'm also an aspiring science fiction writer, which makes me the nerdiest of nerds, apparently. I love to read almost anything and everything, from Plato to Philip K Dick to St. Augustine, and I I absolutely hate arrogant ***hole know-it-alls. Oh, and I play guitar.
I firmly believe that not all atheists are smart, and that not all theists are stupid. I also believe that a lot of smart people become atheists and theists, and sometimes some of these smart people switch sides. I therefore try to avoid stereotyping atheists and theists, especially considering that I myself go back and forth sometimes. (Not that I claim to be smart.)
Welcome to the forum. Your views sound interesting and I am looking forward to reading your posts.

Hello, my name is Autumn (it's not my real name, in case you were wondering) and I'm a British girl who's going to university next year.
I have recently gone from being an atheist to being a Christian. I've always been very interested in debates (two of my biggest interests being theology and philosophy) and I'm hoping this forum will help me improve my arguing skills and hopefully clear up some of the shakier aspects of my beliefs at the same time.
Welcome to the forum. It's always good to see another Christian here.
