"Jesus my Creator"

Post by Elijah John »

A pastor on TBN used the phrase "Jesus my Creator"

Questions for debate..

1) Does such language go beyond even the concept of the Trinity and the language of the Bible itself?
2) Is Jesus "Creator" or Redeemer?
3) Does such language suggest a god, (Jesus) before THE God YHVH? (a violation of the first commandment)
4) Doesn't the Bible indicate that YHVH is Creator, and not Jesus? If Jesus is the Creator, what is the Father's role?
5) Are such phases the inevitable result of Jesus worship taken to it's logical extreme?
6) Are such phrases as "Jesus my Creator" way beyond anything Jesus ever claimed for himself?

Please address any combination of the above questions for debate.
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

I have a certain sympathy with your position; you believe you are being asked to extrapolate on a view you don't hold.

You are asked to consider a scenario and comment on it, whether you think it is fictional or not. You can simply say that you do not wish to involve yourself in discussing God's various hats, and that comment summarises your position with perfect clarity.

But then to state your position as an atheist and invent a new discussion that has nothing at all to do with the OP seems to me pointless. In many discussions here Jesus is the elephant in the room; we don't get a gold medal for shouting FAKE. We move to a different topic.

If the existence of God is a question of great urgency, there's a good discussion on that in philosophy, and I'd be intrigued by your answers as to why you have chosen atheism. But interesting as they are, they are just a tad out of place here, where the Holy Trinity demands our undivided attention.

And remember, I'm not disagreeing with your basic views. I might share then - but somewhere else.
Well said, if one thinks that the positon of a given OP is ridiculous, at most, say it once and move on. No one is forcing anyone to participate on a given thread.

Moderator Clarification

We have thousands of threads in C&A. It is unreasonable to turn every thread into debating the existence of God. Please only discuss what is in the OP.
