Is Satan capable of manipulating the internet?

There is a debate raging about Satan on another OP, but I think it is funny in the light of arguing about a non-existent creature.

Even so, Satan has a heck of a lot of powers. Typing I expect, might be one of them. Manipulating the internet, might be one of them.

Since God has a non-interference policy, and Satan does not -
What stops old Nick from completely manipulating mankind from the complete carrot and stick approach?

The amount of power he'd have, especially on forums like this one is frighteningly incalculable.

Since, that is game over, isn't this just another proof that Satan, and probably God himself just don't exist?

But since we don't know much about Satan, I don't see what we can do about this argument.

Is Satan digital? Can data be manipulated? Does Satan even exist?

If Satan does not exist obviously he can not manipulate the internet.

If we assume Satan DOES exist, then we have to go by what little data we have about Satan, and that includes that Satan has no body, but is very intelligent and powerful.

But why would Satan be interested in manipulating the internet if he has the power to manipulate or influence peoples mind?
If he is after the internet what did he do in the thousands of years when the net was not there?

Besides what is the internet? It's just data, which comes as pixels on our screen.
Are pixels or binary language evil?

No! So the argument that the internet is evil makes no sense, the internet is not a person it has no will, and since it has no will of its own it can not be evil

So no I do not think Satan is a hacker. But if Satan exist I have no doubt that satan would try to influence hackers just like he would politicians, corporate leaders and even religious authorities.

He's uppinig the antes, playing his hand more openly, pushing hard to achieve his aims but its all just a desperate attempt to have the last word an a game he knows he'll lose.

Either Satan is not real, or otherwise Satan is capable of manipulating anything man is capable of manipulating and perhaps more.

I wasn't specifically speaking about the internet more about his (Satan's) game plan, but yes, the internet has proved a very useful tool both for good and for evil. For example the ease and accessibility that Young people have access to hardcore pornography, as producers target teens and earlier, means such material can get into the hands of more people than ever. That is just one example, in my opinion of using the internet for evil.

But that is just on piece I believe of a wider system that, according to the bible, belongs to Satan. Yes, the bible says (and I believe it) that Satan uses ministers or human agents, to achieve his goals.

Thanks yes I thought so, though I am a bit surprised by the attack in regard to internet information even porn.

For as I see it all the internet is, is a library of information where you can look at and reveal whatever you want and avoid what you don't.

Can information be evil? Even pictures. I mean God has created the human body, so he can see everyone naked, to him that is not porn. He supposedly also created sexual urges right? So that can't be evil either.

And the using of young girls on the internet, can not be done if the young girls was not willing or society did not make it so easy. God could prevent this right, so if this was so bad to God why would he allow it?

The bad as I see it must be in the deception, but that's a deception in general about people, sex, the world we live in etc...not the internet. As you say the internet can be both good and evil, I love it and find it far more useful and good than the TV where my control of the information is far more limited and the programs far more manipulative following a stations agenda.

I love the net, I think its one of the better modern day inventions.

What i think is far more evil is the spy cams, satellites, wire tap, and the access people get to personal information through any data appliances.

And that the governments do this is downright scary. If anything they are the ones who use the internet for evil.

Edward Snowden to me is a hero, and the villains those he tried to expose.

I don't know if you read any of my earlier posts but I did say that I believe the internet can be used for good or for bad, it is a tool, like a knife can be used to operate on a patient to help them or to kill someone, it dpends on what is done with it. Jehovah's Witnesses ourselves have a website (https://www.jw.org) which we use to reach many millions of people, which is I believe personally is using the internet for good.


I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, we are Christians, we believe pornography is bad and not Something we should expose ourselves or our children to. I am aware that is against what the majority of people believe. I'm just expressing our beliefs, not imposing them on anyone.

Don't you think that the exact reason porn has so much power is because people refuse to see the truth about it, and treat it as something soooo wonderful or soooo terrible...when in fact it is far overrated.

The biggest producers of porn in the world are the nations which claim to be against porn.

Pornography violates a number of bible principles

- that of immodesty: The bible says Christians should dress modestly, which we understand to not dress in a way that draws attention to their sexual parts. It would be hypocritical to adhere to this for ourselves and to find entertainment in looking at naked people engaging in sexual acts.

- that of lust: Lust being illegitimate excessive uncontrolled desires for anything. Pornography feeds desires for fornication and masturbation that we believe are displeasing to God and a misuse of our bodies. Jesus said, looking at a member of the opposite sex, with sustained lustful intentions was a type of "adultery of the heart" which is displeasing to God and disloyal to one's Partner.

- That of distortion of natural desires: Pornography often features obscene acts that the bible says should not even be mentioned among us let alone used for Entertainment including people engaging gin sex with individuals that are not their marriage Partner, excessive depiction of violence, homosexual acts and even bestiality and more.

For Jehovah's Witneseses we view pornography as a entirely unclean, physically, mentally and especially spiritually harmful endeavor, proven to be highly addictive (which would violate the bible principle of being slaves only of Christ), we are strongly against its use in any form. We believe sex is a private matter, exclusively between a man and his wife, not a public source of Entertainment for anyone outside of their union.
