We are to keep ALL his commandments. Unfortunately it's impossible to keep all of them, as we are imperfect beings. That's where repentance comes in.
Hi Zionite,

Which law do you feel you're under, the old law of sin and death or the new law of the spirit?

You can't be under both.

Peace.
The "new covenant"/"new law", per Jeremiah 31:31-33 is "My Law" being put into the heart of the house of Judah and the house of Israel". Your "new law", the law of the false prophet Paul, is one of which the old has been made obsolete, and you are "released" from the Law (Romans 7:6) & (Hebrew 8:13) One path leads to life, and one leads to "destruction" (Matthew 7:13). You get to pick.

We're all under the law of obedience.

The Lord has given us His commandments, and it's up to us to decide whether we follow them or not.

Paul is certainly not a false prophet.
We Christians see Paul as an Apostle of Jesus Christ.
His writings are invaluable to Christian teaching.

Hi showme,
Could you be more specific? How do you believe that works?

Who is released from the old law and why?

I believe God does the choosing, and eventually we are all led to life.

Peace.

And where do we find that "law of obedience?"

Jeremiah 31:31-33 hasn't happened as of yet. Only Judah and Jerusalem have been "restored" (Joel 3:1). The "stick" of "Judah" and the "stick of Israel" remain apart at this point in time. You will have to wait for the "day of the LORD" to have that in place. Also shown in Ezekiel 36:22-27. As for what false prophet Paul says or does, only leads to the destruction of the "many" (Matthew 7:13). No one is actually "released from the Law", that is only the teachings of the false prophet Paul, but having a false prophet was a partial fulfillment of the Law and the testimony with respect to Zechariah 11.

As for "all" being led to life, the "false prophet" is already dead, and according to Revelation 16:13-16, is only in the form of a "demon spirit", which will apparently be soon to find itself in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). While he may have everlasting life, it will apparently not be a life one would hope for.

Ezekiel 36:26,"Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances".

"Ezekiel 36:26,"Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances". "

Paul fully understood it as in Hebrews 10:

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
.....
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood

..to finish off that reference:

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Indeed the ransom value was offered to God himself and it is the basis for the forgivness of sins. A value far superior to anything under the law.
