Who do you cheer for?

The athlete or the coach or the judge?

Can any creature really score a perfect 10?

Well even I am going to pause to consider that metaphor for the trinity.
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

If I cheer, I cheer for those like me, who can do good things that interest and/or support me and my beliefs, etc.
I also cheer when 'good' people are caught in bad situations. If there's any thing 'just' in life, it's catching hypocrites.

I don't tend to cheer for any of these guys.
Typically, the athletes are snobbish, the coaches are loud and crass and the judges are too politically challenged.

approaching the Trinity

If we're talking about the Trinity here, I root for all of them equally because they're all equal in essence and purpose.

I sometimes think people have trouble with the Trinity because we have nothing in creation to adquately compare it to. That's okay with me because we are talking about God and the fact that he isn't like anything in creation doesn't worry me. In fact, that's what sets him apart from pagan gods. They were all part and parcel of creation, arising out of the elements, often water. The fact that God is more complicated than anything in his creation really doesn't surprise me at all.

William Lane Craig has an analogy that he uses to describe the Trinity, one that he sometimes apologizes for because some people find it offensive. But he says some people have told him that it has really helped them to understand it better.

He talks about a three-headed dog called Cerberus which is found in Greco-Roman mythology. The dog was one organism, but each head had a distinct consciousness. You can read more here:

God is not complicated, we are.

He is different; He is other.

He is Spirit, we are flesh.

Actually this thread began in my mind as a response thread to why do some Christians seem to worship Jesus more than the Father especially when Jesus did worship the Father.

I realised that we cheer the athlete or actor not the coach or the director and it is Jesus that saves us.

Then i realised that there was a metaphor in there for the trinity.
Athlete - Jesus
Coach - Holy Spirit
Judge - Father
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

The word trinity is not in Scripture but Gos word is self evident as we read and hear the Fatehr and the Son and the Holy Spirit several times..

Mat 3:15 However, Yeshua answered him, "Let it be this way now, because we should do everything righteousness requires." Then Yochanan let him.
Mat 3:16 As soon as Yeshua had been immersed, he came up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, he saw the Spirit of God coming down upon him like a dove,
Mat 3:17 and a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; I am well pleased with him."
1. now we know why Yeshua insisted that John be the one to baptise Him ( Yeshua ) and note those mentioned. Heaven was opened!!! How glorious and a miracle also,, surly all who read this passage can hear what is happening ?

I guess many see and hear only what suits them ?

According to the Christian Gospels the Father is not the judge. Jesus is the judge.

John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

He is completely "other"? Even Paul said to Pagans regarding God, "in him we live and move and have our being". Collective "we", believers and would-be believers alike.

Also, we are not entirely flesh, right?
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.
