Simple question:
Is Christianity still taught the same today as 'it' was in the days of Jesus?
Less than 100 years ago, in some parts of America (at least) inter-racial marriage was a sin.
In some parts of South America Catholics have adopted a more 'pagan-like' (my words) worshiping of Christianity than their North American counterparts.
Even the Pope has changed how Christianity views things very recently compared to how they were viewed in the past 50 or so years (see below for your reading pleasure).
So is Christianity taught and understood the same today as it was centuries ago?
If not, has it changed for the better or worse?

Post #2Real Christianity is not so much something that is taught, but a life-changing experience that is caught.imhereforyou wrote: Simple question:

Scripture calls it being born of the Spirit, being a new creation, and repentance to life, for example.

I'd say that as the Information Age has come to make much more informal and that Christianity is not so dogmatic anymore and the Mosaic Laws are obsolete, Christianity has definitely changed for the better!
Christianity is no longer used for all sorts of dubious purposes and that the ethics is now discussed under Democracy and Human Rights (UDHR) given the political discussion open to all.
Given that technology is handled better in the future, religious people can make huge advances in the World all the way to Utopia!

I'm cool!
- Stronger Religion every day! Also by "mathematical Religion", the eternal forms, God closing the door on corrupt humanity, possibly!

Post #5I can't speak for other groups, we JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES try and get as close to first century Christianity as possible. All our fundamental beliefs are based on scripture as expressed in the first century writings.imhereforyou wrote: Simple question:

Post #6We have become more tolerant; we don't kill old ladies or homosexuals,at least in the civilised bit of the world. Pope Francis has immersed himself in practical Christianity - being kind, avoiding ostentation, showing charity and mercy. Christianity always sought to do this but never quite succeeded.imhereforyou wrote:

What are your holy days, then? Are they the 7 feasts of God?
