The kingdom of God.

Post by Checkpoint »

Some seem to think it is entirely future, while others give the impression they are always thinking of it as present, and to not be looking at the future in kingdom terms at all.

Jesus had much to say about the kingdom, including this:
Luke 16:

6 The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is being zealously urged into it.
So, where do you stand as to whether it is present, future, or has both a present and a future aspect?

On what basis?

According to which scriptures?

Oh I see well I can only reply with a faith based statement, that as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I believe ...

We are the only international organized religion that identifies as Jehovah's Witnesses as represented by a single governing body of that group (presently located in Wallkill, New York) that preaches from door to door that God's Kindom is a literal government located in heaven that began ruling in 1914 and includes uniquely 144,000 individuals the only people that will ever go to heaven, and that all other individuals judged as righteous including bible characters such as Abraham, Sarah, King David did not and will not go to heaven but will live on this planet earth that will never be burnt up.

ONLY Jehovah's Witnesses preach a message (doctrine) that incorporates ALL the above elements as part of an organized centralized international group. I challenge anyone to find another organized religion that believes the identical message in ALL its aspects and preaches so from door to door worldwide.

You are simply adding additional claims that weren't apart of your original claim. Of course if you add these claims you can pretend that your original claim was something other than what it was.

I was and am addressing your original claim. You are changing it for your own purposes to misrepresent it.

Okay well my original claim wasn't well expressed and for this I apologize. Anyway when I say "it", the above touches on but by no means covers all of what I meant .

My apologises again for my lack of precision.

It is not a lack of precision that is the issue. It is the change of claims that were originally made. In retail sales it would be called "bait and switch", which is a course illegal. Perhaps it is viewed differently in some circles.

Sorry, but it is not excellent. Excellence would involve honesty.

Well I believe I agree, that is a faith based statement based on personal feelings.

Have a good one,

Given that I know I don't agree with you, your belief is clearly unfounded. Your personal feelings provide nothing of value to this discussion.
