The conservative mind set as far as from a Biblical point of view is bankrupt! You can say that you want to be involved with politics but you can say that God through the Bible has mandated that you be invovled.
The proponents of religious conservatism have not proven their ideals with all that the bible has to say and what they are doing is destroying who and what the church is with their agenda.

My only desire of late is to show believers (only) that we are not the numbskulls labeled on us so prominetly by secularists.
When you study the great thinkers it always boils down to the fact that they were just people. Just eating and sleeping people. Nothing more nothing less.
Franklin and Jefferson may be someones heroes but to me they are just guys that said things when they were alive during an intense period of history.
I seek individualism of thought by researching and experiencing other people and their views and beliefs but always realizing that they are no better than I am. I exclude "or worse" as a matter of position of equality in the social debate as a citizen with rights the same as anyone, not the eternal. If someone wants to ask me about the hope I have in Christ, I will follow Peters advice.
But unfortunately I act rather badly towards bullies. Intellectual or physical.
As a Christian, we can effectively deal with utter nonsense being passed off as educated knowledge, by studying the people presenting their perspective. We inevitably can see through the mask and subterfuge when we know the who and the why of a position.
Nietszche, Marx and Frued for examples, drift from heroes to degenerates pretty quickly. The followers of their dogmas inevitably as well. But it takes a willingness to want to defend believers by entering into the cesspool and pulling out those that can see and smell what is all around them and what is in them.
And never forgetting that in that cesspool is where I was pulled from by someone else willing to enter and succeed.
