Abortion, Circumcision, and Hypocrisy

Some time ago, a question occurred to me: If Anti-abortion (pro-life) supporters argued under the assumption that unborn children had certain rights, (in this case, the right to life) does it constitute hypocrisy if the same person has his or her child circumcised shortly after birth, when the child is incapable of consenting to said operation?

So the questions for debate are as follows:

Does circumcision violate the rights of an infant?

Should cosmetic surgery on infants (excluding reconstructive cosmetic surgery) be considered unethical?

Does it constitute hypocrisy to be both pro-life and have his or her child circumcised?

Well it actually addresses two of the three subjects mentioned in the OP. Abortion and hypocrisy and as such is extremely relevant to the discussion. You're welcome.

And the red ribbon for second goes too.......hold the presses....I believe the judges are conferring.....yes ......I'm sorry doc the judges have decided not to award a second prize to you, because they say you weren't even in the race. They haven't clarified whether they meant human or not.

As you put it here, YES, it is hypocritical. The real difference is that, things that can be justified by religion is always OK - never hypocritical. Never ever ever.

And then again, on another forum someone who was an atheist and a homosexual said that they NEVER do anything wrong.

I don't suffer fools gladly. If that offends some people then so be it. Because I am offended greatly by people who claim divinity or at least connection to or knowledge of divinity and the profess to know what this non existent divinity is thinking and even more what it is thinking about me in particular. But being a reasonable and tolerant human being I normally accept such fable based behaviour. I do though object when people of that persuasion try to use their beliefs to limit my ability to express myself. That's all
