Eastern vs Western Ideas

I thought I would like to share a little picture I made on paint. I have always pondered the idea that there are two basic human values; that of the self; and that of another. The picture is representative of so much I can not even describe however; I will start by saying this. When you look at the fruit; does it exist because and of itself; or because the life of another? As the seed of the apple represents the existence of it for the purpose of another tree; the fruit that surrounds it seems to suggest it is part of something much larger; and since the sweetness of the apple could never be experienced by it's seed; what is the point of it's seed anyway? Since the fruit is only ultimately enjoyed by something else. In comparison to religion; which is ultimately representative of a deity? I no longer have the train of thought that I was on last night; but thinking about the big picture always makes me appreciate stuff. Share your thoughts.
