My Hatred for Americans - A Badly Written Poem By LillSnopp

I hate Americans, i say it like this.

My reason for it, is that the vast amount of Americans are ignorants, as i prefer calling them. They live their little life, secluded somewhere in some American State, and talk about how great their country is.

I hate these people.

Imagine yourself, living there.. Been nowhere, seen nothing, but yet, you are, the Supreme. You are the greatest, and everyone, yes, absolutely everyone, that is not there, is jealous of you, poor them, indeed... Poor them.

I hate them to.

I see them, living their lifes, claiming it to be so good, so good. Yet, i see others, living better, saying nothing, somewhere... Outside (the border)...

I do not hate them.

Since World War II, this has been. Britain, France and the Netherlands, would have been German, if it was not for them. Forgetting not the Soviets then? 13 million Russians Dead, not counted, in the eyes of Uncle Sam. No No, it was US, we did it, thank us! thank us!

Arrogant too.

And France then, their greatest supporter, since 1776 to what end? Surrender monkeys, cowards and thieves, forgetting then, that without them they would not be...

It's the sort of epic poetry of that kind Beowulf is renowned for, pulsing with vitality and energy! But I think it probably loses some of its momentum in the attempt to translate your thoughts into English...

There was actually once a thread for the creative works of our members. Where is it...ah, there it is!. I've taken the liberty of making it a sticky. I'm sure otseng won't mind. Since then, there has to be some new creative members, surely.

Its not translated. English would be its original.

Sure, but you're Swedish and your thoughts follow Swedish syntax, so when you write English, it comes out a little less fluently and clearly than when a native English speaker writes something. I don't mean to be nasty when I say that, though. Perhaps, with some practice, you'll be the next Joseph Conrad. He was an Polish immigrant who learned English when he was 20, mastered it, and then went on to become one of the greatest writers of English prose ever.

Well, i am thinking in English but ofcourse, English is not my native language, so obviously its just somewhat better then an average american, and a bit worse then a Native Brit.

LillSnopp, you certainly have a sense of humor. You can't really believe that being born in a certain part of the world determines how good or bad someone's English is. That's almost as naive as believing in Santa Claus or the Flat Earth!

Perhaps you have not spoken to an American?

*sigh*

As proud as I am to be an American, I would not consider myself arrogant due to the fact.
My reason for it, is that the vast amount of Americans are ignorants, as i prefer calling them. They live their little life, secluded somewhere in some American State, and talk about how great their country is.
Well, I guess I am a bit ignorant. My longest leave from America was a 2 week vacation to Vancouver Island.
Imagine yourself, living there.. Been nowhere, seen nothing, but yet, you are, the Supreme. You are the greatest, and everyone, yes, absolutely everyone, that is not there, is jealous of you, poor them, indeed... Poor them.
I /am/ somewhere; America. I /do/ see things; America.

I would consider America the greatest country on Earth due to it's power, not it's beauty. Supremacy requires power and, as of now, the US has the most.

While I will agree that most of the most beautiful sights in the world are elsewhere, it seems a bit hyprocritical for you to claim America as 'nothing' with 'nothing to see'.

No No, it was US, we did it, thank us! thank us!
I don't claim to be 'good'. My life here is easier than it would be in other places, but the quality should not be compared to net worth. There will always be someone living 'better', for that is completely subjective.

I truly do mourn for all atrocities committed (the Holocaust, the Soviet losses, WW2 in general, Vietnam, etc).
And France then, their greatest supporter, since 1776 to what end? Surrender monkeys, cowards and thieves, forgetting then, that without them they would not be...
I like the wording here.

Oh, but I don't hate the French, nor do I see all of them as cowards. I am irritated that the French goverment pulled out of Iraq to cover their own involvment in oil-for-food scandals, weapons being sold, etc, but I don't hate /all/ the French.

(I realized after i wrote this that I use the word 'America' several times, instead of 'US'. This is commonphrase here in 'America', so if you're wondering what I meant, that should explain it)

This is a nice piece of writing, but as a citizen of the US, I don't like being fit into a stereotype that I don't belong in.

Actually I have spoken to many Americans. I even married one! I know well-educated Americans and poorly-educated ones, the whole gamut. I have also spoken to well-educated Brits and to others who were not as well-educated, including some Benny Hill fans and football hooligans. I think those national stereotypes are only good for jokes. What is it that makes you think that Americans don't speak good English?

It is?
Well, its just a ´poem´, and as im talking general about americans, no one should be personally offended, but you did fit in several areas of it you admitted (had only been to Vancouver, and you claim that to be aboard , and you also consider your country to be the ´greatest´, yet, you been nowhere else (except Vancouver ofcourse), so how can you judge?)

I wanted to point to France, as they have been your greatest ally trough time, yet, most americans dont even know this. And dont even seem to understand that the `U. S´ would not exist without them (most likely several countries).

But thanx for your input, it was JUST a poem. Didnt expect scrutinize(ation) of it
