Your very own usergroup

Post by otseng »

Now, you can have your very own usergroup. Post in this thread the name that you'd like. I'll make sure the name conforms to the standards of this site and deduct 2500 tokens from you. Then, you'll be the owner and member of that usergroup. By default, people will be able to freely join your group. Or you can choose to confirm membership requests.

To request your personal usergroup, provide the following:
- Name of usergroup (40 character limit)
- Description (255 character limit)
- Note if you want to confirm membership from others (default will be no)

For an additional charge of 10,000 tokens, you can also have your own subforum for your usergroup. Please provide the following info:
- Name of usergroup (40 character limit)
- Description (80 character limit)

Subforum activity requirement:
- Subforums must maintain some activity in it. Subforums that do not have any activity for six months can get removed (posts made to simply bump threads do not count). There will be no refunds given for any subforums removed.

Additional restrictions:
- Do not add people to your group without their permission. Otherwise I will delete your group.
- Descriptions cannot point to personal websites. If a link is found to point to inappropriate and/or offensive material, the group will be deleted.

1/3/2011 Modification:
- Changed group price from 500 to 1000 tokens
- Changed subforum price from 2000 to 5000 tokens

1/12/2013 Modification:
- Added subforum activity requirement

12/31/2016 Modification:
- Changed group price from 1000 to 2500 tokens
- Changed subforum price from 5000 to 10,000 tokens

To be certain, that is all the reason you need.

And, as this is not a debate subforum, I won't comment on the rest of post. I just wanted to acknowledge that I read it, and thank you for taking the time to respond. Perhaps we'll drop into that discussion sometime in the future.

Until then, best to you.
And I thank you for your voicing your concerns and question. ;)

You are more than welcome to join the group if you feel it is appropriate for you.

I left membership entirely up to the discretion of those who join.

I have no intention of interrogating anyone who joins the group. O:)

Can you modify the Earthling Usergroup description to read as follows:

Views ones self as an Earthling. Gives life on Earth priority over nations and religions. In the spirit of John Lennon's Imagine. Although an atheistic mindset is not strictly required. Non-religiously-bigoted spiritualists welcome.

This is still under the 255 character requirement and might help to clarify concerns that may arise like the concern of Jester.

Thank You.
Otseng

In truth, I'm not really happy with the phrase "Non-religiously-bigoted".

Any suggestions on how I could convey a similar idea more eloquently?

I tried to do that the first time with just plane "non-religious".

But it's not really 'religion' itself that I'm trying remove from the group What I'm trying to remove is support for the idea of religions that "exclude" or "belittle" Earthlings based on religious bigotry. (i.e. if you're not a member of our religion you are ungodly or less than righteous or respectable, etc.)

How do I convey that eloquently in a 255 character description?

John Lennon does it by just renouncing religion altogether and showing full throttle support for secular atheism. I'm trying to allow for non-bigoted spiritual views?

Is there a more polite way to state that in the description?

How about:

"Spiritualists who respect all Earthlings equally are also welcome"?

YES!!!!

Could you do the following as the final group description please?

Views ones self as an Earthling. Gives life on Earth priority over nations and religions. In the spirit of John Lennon's Imagine. Although an atheistic mindset is not strictly required. Spiritualists who respect all Earthlings equally are also welcome.

How's that?

I'm happy with that one. O:)

That's far better than "non-religiously-bigoted". ;)

I have a form of oral Dyslexia where I often switch the first letters of two words in a row, especially if those words are related in some way.

I seldom do this in print, but the other day when I went shopping I noticed that on my shopping list I had written "Fat cood"
