Was Jesus crucified on the Passover, of earlier?

Post by polonius »

The question is whether the Sabbath which came the next day was a Saturday Sabbath or the Passover Sabbath or both. I believe that all the evidence is unanimous that Jesus was crucufied on the day before the Passover. Matthew confirms this, as in Matthew 27:62 he says that the day after the crucifixion was the "one after Preparation Day" (ie preparation day for the Passover.

And John has no Eucharist account at the last supper.

Well yes and no. Nisan 15 (the fist day of the festival of loaves) was considered a Sabbath (no matter what day of the week it fell on see Lev. 23:4). So of course there would have been years when there were 2 Sabbath same week* (ie the regular weekly sabbath and the festival sabbath).

In the year Jesus died though it seems this was not the case.

* Other festival days were also considered Sabbaths.

What year did he die? It wasn't 33ad.

31 Ad seems to match scripture

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isa 14:12

Definitely not morning when he arose

Before others are confused, Lucifer means bringer of light. The morning star. It is a misnomer for Ha'satan. Whose true name is hidden also.

Why do you say that?

Why then do you think Yahweh's holy Sabbath begins at sundown and ends sundown the next day? This began during creation prior to Satan's fall.

QUESTION: How do you know precisely the year that Jesus died? Please provide your reference.

Because evening and morning were the first day.
