In God's image

Post by Ross »

Genesis 1:26
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

What does it mean that man was created "in God's image?"

On a secondary note, the following verse says:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Does Genesis 1: 27 indicate that God is both male and female?
Out of the eater came something to eat,
And out of the strong came something sweet.

You acknowledge God can split Himself, don’t you? He can truly split Himself infinitely, through manifestations in any manner He wishes, but, still, God is only one.

Absolutely. Only we are not told that he split himself at some point in the infinite past. The Bible indicates that the Father, the Word and the Spirit were there from the beginning.
Jesus is in a 24/7 watch mode for whoever will come to and call upon His name. He is the one who teaches the truth today. You'd better approach and talk to Him for the truth on all the issues we discussed, will you?
You sound as though your persuasion is Pentecostal Modalism. Am I correct?
No, I’m not a member of the sect Pentecostal Modalism. Ours is a direct encounter with Jesus.

[Replying to Ross in post #1]

My answer to your question is, "no," @Ross, because God is spirit, not flesh except for Jesus, also fully God, who was a God-man on the earth and continues to be a man in heaven.

Joh 4:24  God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
