Post #1092This is what you all do to me now that my immigration status is out. Every time I make a good point you can't refute, you just call the MIB on me.

Post #1095[Replying to JoeyKnothead in post #1094]
“Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”
- Christopher Hitchens
(When you have a mental library like mine, it can become quite scary the sorts of dots you can start to connect... most of them involving cats to some degree...)
Also, here are some pictures by Louis Wain, who was insane.
He had cats on the brain.

Re: Just For Giggles.
Post #1096Found this one that somebody linked me a few years ago:
https://www.themarysue.com/cats-improve-paintings/

From the article:
First, a note from the cat. “Our name is Zarathustra. We are a cat. According to our assistant (named by ignoramuses as our ‘owner’) We are the best cat in the world. By the will of the gods, We have been relieved of our animal desires, therefore Our postprandial time is given to the reflections on lofty matters. We are so gracious in Our enjoyment of repasts.”

Re: Just For Giggles.
Post #1099This is perhaps just because I had a nasty upbringing and constantly told I should be more thankful for my intellect (by Unitarians who said I didn't have to believe in God... so go figure whether they wanted me to think I got my IQ from a box under the Xmas tree), but I see this as being grateful that everyone else missed out on the physical greatness.
Whenever an athlete says this, I imagine how that athlete would react if the child with two club feet dying of leukemia said exactly the same thing. I even imagine them saying it with the same tone, not sarcastic at all, just, wow, all credit for this wonderful illness and my physical abilities go to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without him I wouldn't be here right now.
And I imagine, that kid is sitting in the hospital bed just smiling, grinning ear-to-ear, some of their adult teeth still needing to come in, their bald head gleaming in the fluorescent light of the hospital room.
And what the athlete wants to say is:

...But he can't. Because that is how it works.
