I'm interested what it would take for a Christian, Catholic, etc. to be convinced that God did not exist.
In other words what kind of proof would convince you. The discovery of Jesus's body? Alien invaders? that kind of thing.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
What would convince you that God doesn't exist?

From rules of debate:
4. Stay on the topic of debate. If a topic brings up another issue, start another thread.
Since your debate really wasn't linked to the original topic of the thread then you are to create a new thread if you want to start debating what is and what isn't a fanatic or why atheists try to disprove religion.
I wasn't trying to derail your debate...I was just getting back to the topic of the thread.

Is it a state of temporary confusion, or a deliberate attempt to derail a debate? Then why didn't you say so several pages back? Why interrupt now? Why this apparent lie implying that you have been here before?what is and what isn't a fanatic or why atheists try to disprove religion.
When did I switch to the topic about Sharia law?
And why not leave rules to moderators, or alert them? What harm was there to you?
Garbage. All you had to do for that was say your piece and mind your own sweet business.I wasn't trying to derail your debate...I was just getting back to the topic of the thread.

Grow-up! I just read the thread and made my post. I am not going to get into a stupid argument because you don't like my post. Either talk to me about the topic at hand or don't talk to me because I am not going to partake in this childishness!

Anyways..I think for me to believe that there wasn't a God I would have to undeniable proof that that was the case. Like I said I have strong personal experiences as well as evidence that proves to me that the God of the Bible exists and that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour...
I honestly can't think of anything that would convince me...I don't believe they could ever provide proof that they found Jesus's body and I don't believe that if aliens visited that it would prove to me that God didn't exist or even that Creation was wrong for that matter.
I have many friends that believe that "aliens" are going to play a role in the Great Deception. I am not in this camp, but I can see their point of view so aliens producing themselves wouldn't really have any impact on my belief in Christ!

Thank you for that honest answer. But one can rightly ask, then why are you here? Certainly not to debate. When I come to debate, it is with three thoughts in mind.I honestly can't think of anything that would convince me...I don't believe they could ever provide proof that they found Jesus's body and I don't believe that if aliens visited that it would prove to me that God didn't exist or even that Creation was wrong for that matter.
1) I think I am right.
2) I think I can convince my opponent (or the audience) that I am right.
3) If my opponent betters me, I should be willing to consider that I am wrong.
If you are not willing to consider that you are wrong, then debate is useless. It is more likely, therefore, that you are here to preach and/or witness.
So why are you here?

Where have I been bettered? I said I can not think of anything that would convince me, but I didn't say that it wasn't possible. In a debate it is not my job to tell the other side how to defeat me in that debate is it? I can think of anything that could convince me...it is up to the other side to find something that would/could...or am I just way off base? The Happy Humanist wrote:Thank you for that honest answer. Can't think of a thing...
Post #70It would be like trying to prove my earthly father doesn't exist.
As for why I am here... it's to gain understanding about what stands between other people and our Lord.
