Do we want a non-religious debate forum?

Post by Abraxas »

I have been considering for a few days whether to spend the 2000 (before it goes up!) on a new forum for "Non-religious Debate". It would have the same rules as any of the other debate forums, just that it would be specifically for topics that have little to no connection to religion, such as politics, sports, hobbies, etc. Before I shell out, I was wondering if anyone would use the forum to see if it was going to be valuable or just clutter for the community. Any thoughts?

Depends on how active it is, really. Though, we could try it out in general and if one topic comes to dominate the forum and clutter it up, we can spin off another forum, like was done with the Islam one.

I mean, if your gonna do it. Do it right the first time. That idea probably will work.

I would consider a broad ranging debate forum to be doing it right, it gives us the opportunity to see which, if any topic will dominate while still allowing the forum to participate in broad ranging debate on any topic of their choosing (within reason).
