Is it cheating if the rules don't say anything about it?
Post #1I know there may be certain qualifiers that people would want address, so if you want to discuss those, post them. I just wanted to see the counts of simple yes's and no's.

If the rules say nothing about it, explicitly or implicitly, it should be fair game.
in the International Obfuscated C Code Competition, competitors are generally well respected for finding ways around the rules to do ridiculous things; the canonical example was when somebody submitted the worlds shortest self-replicating program, a blank file.
If the competition is taken seriously, the structure of the rules should be, too.
