Will Christians always be free?

Is Christianity a hate crime?

Can there be rights for Christians to believe what they have always believed or will Christians eventually be outlawed completely?

Why should Christian beliefs be intolerable to secularists?

Swedish pastor beats "hate crime" conviction
CALGARY, Alberta Siding with Pastor Stephen Boissoin, who is under fire by a University of Calgary professor for expressing pro-family views, an Alberta human rights panel ruled Thursday against a critical application filed by the professor. The application sought to bar publication on the Internet of the complaint the professor filed against Boissoin.

"The ability to express ones conscience is a fundamental human right," said ADF Litigation Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. "The pastor cannot be muzzled simply because someone else does not share his viewpoint."

The Calgary professor, Dr. Darren Lund, reported Boissoin to the Alberta Human Rights Commission four years ago for published letters Boissoin wrote on homosexual behavior. Lund claimed he had since become the victim of harassment as a result of the availability on the Internet of the complaint he filed against Boissoin. The panel stated, "There is no evidence that Dr. Lund has been harassed or that his familys safety is in jeopardy."

Lund accused Boissoin and a local group, Concerned Christian Coalition, on July 22, 2002, of violating a Canadian human rights law with regard to "sexual orientation" after two letters from Boissoin appeared in the Red Deer Advocate in 2002.

"We are pleased the panel chose to recognize Mr. Boissoins right to express himself," said Gerald Chipeur, an Alberta-based ADF-allied attorney. "Posting legal documents on a Web site is not a crime."

Last year, ADF attorneys assisted in winning the case of Ake Green, a pastor threatened with jail time after he was accused of violating a Swedish "hate crimes" law for presenting a Christian view of homosexual behavior in a sermon (www.telladf.org/news/pressrelease.aspx?cid=3606).

Christians outlawed?

I cannot profess to know what will happen in the future but I would like to remind you of the past. When Christianity and Christians were persecuted, their faith and their testimony for Jesus was at its best. Conversely, Christianity has performed miserably when it acquired political power. You can see that in the Byzantium, Russia etc with the Orthodox church, in western Europe with the Catholic church, In America with the Evangelical church and so on.
If history teaches us anything, it teaches that prosperity and power corrupt everybody and the church is no exception. When you are praying for revival be careful. The best and greatest revival may well be the result of severe persecution.

Who said, "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. " To listen to Christians complain about persecution, one might think that they did not believe him.

I think the bible says it will be outlawed.

Revelations 20:4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

I feel It all boils down to tolerance.

"Of all religions, Christianity is without a doubt the one that should inspire tolerance most, although, up to now, the Christians have been the most intolerant of all men" - Voltaire

In my opinion Christians need to become more tolerant.

Matthew 13:28-30 The servants asked Jesus, "Do you want us to go and pull them up?" "No," he answered, "because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest."

Hope i helped and didn't send you in the wrong direction

It can be noted that even if Christianity will not completely be outlawed, it will eventually be made more difficult for a Christian to survive. If a mark will be required for all buying and selling.
Revelation 13:17 "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
Then it will be like a move against Christianity. And basically outlaw it by reducing on amount of nessicities delievered to Christians.

i suppose the fact that outright genocide is advocated in teh scriptures doesn't help.
compare to other religions, such as hinduism, where tolerance of each and every other religion is encouraged in scripture. they do not say that one is a "weed," but all people can see things in the same light if they try

Every law, be it from a religion or any philosophy, is permission and compulsion to discriminate against a sub group of society.

It is to us to decide if this discrimination is fair.

We all agree that murderers should be discriminated against. No question.

Where it gets sticky is where we are asked to discriminate against women and Gays.

Then things get interesting.

My belief is that we should not discriminate against any social group that does not produce a victim directly or indirectly.
