Curious Question(s) To Ask Professional Musicians...

Post by POI »

I did not watch the Grammy's last night. Neither did my daughter. But she told me that many of the winner's 'speeches' involved their disapproval of "ICE", as presented to her from social media. As a side note, I am not committed to team-red or team-blue, and instead try to remain as objective as possible? If that is even possible...

I have to wonder.... If Kamala had instead won the election, and instituted "ICE" in the exact same way, (resulting in all the exact same results), would ANY of these musicians have mentioned "ICE' at all? And if they did, would they mention the 'bad' parts, or just the opposite and boost this program up? This is somewhat of a rhetorical question...

For Debate:

1) Is it even possible to remain fairly objective, regarding the deeply held topics of (politics and/or religion)? Or, do some of our pre-conceived biases force (many/all) of us, to some extent, in "cherry picking" to personal taste?

2) Do professional musicians believe their own "opinions", (which were either spoon-fed to them or because they truly do believe it), really matter to others? It's kind of like what the comedian Ricky G. stated at the Golden Globes a few years back... "Thank your manager, family, your god, collect your award, and then go sit back down."
In case anyone is wondering... The avatar quote states the following:

"I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness."
