My purpose here is to ask questions and allow readers to evaluate answers given by others. I do not endeavor to provide answers. My answers are mine alone and are not suggested for others.
I am not particularly searching for answers regarding religion (but do have interest in ideas and communication by others). I enjoy debate but would not identify that as a primary motivation for engaging in discussion of topics characteristic of this forum. Thus, "none of the three answers provided".
Multiple choice questions often leave much to be desired. They may suggest more about test makers than the test takers (by analysis of the questions chosen to ask and the wording of the correct and incorrect answers provided).
Notice that only three alternatives were provided by the OP -- not including "none". What does that suggest?

You have a very good point. I give kudos to you for thinking outside the box. However, I disagree that the choices can accurately say anything about myself. There could be many reasons I did it like I did. Since I am new to the forum, I don't really know much about how the people think and feel and what kind of answers and responses to expect from them. Your such response tells me something about you. I only respond for the sake of others not coming to the same conclusion about me as you did. I don't believe those are the only choices, but they are the only choices I'd like to offer. Otherwise, I figure most people will choose "none" as you did.
However, given your explanation, you are stating that you are here for the purpose of asking questions with no regard to finding any answers. If that is the case, I should not be able to find any place where you offer up any amount of information to anyone. Would I be unsuccessful in finding such a case? If you are asking questions without seeking the answers of others, I would have to say that you do indeed fit into the third choice, would you not? Otherwise, why do you ask questions if not for the joy of the debate regarding them?

I am here for both. To find answers as well as provides some insight into my own. You will find I am in a constant state of fluctuation. But as I learn more, my view flip flops. It can be frustrating. But despite my confusion, I have learned some valuable lessons and have been able to put some conflict with difficult concepts aside with comfort in the knowledge that I can accept the understanding I have of it.
I have found that despite the foundation of many here, they offer valuable insight and I have learned that support definitely comes from some of the least likely sources.

I am thrilled to hear that someone actually learns stuff. It doesn't seem many do. Though you're here for both providing insight and finding answers, I would believe there is one that fits the better. Given that you openly admit you are confused and flip flop your ideas, I would have to imagine that you're more in it for answers than to simply explain stuff to everyone else. Otherwise, it would be silly to be here mostly for explaining things that you might change the very next day. This is why I set the question as which fits BEST and not "which is the ONLY reason." Would you agree?

I too say none of the above. I do not provide answers, neither am I here to find them. I do enjoy debating, but not so much that this is my only agenda. I am here for the comradery and sharing ideas. If any thing to learn about other people and their way of life.
BTW... great thread you opened. I do feel bad and apologize that I couldn't pick one of your options.
But great OP none the less.

I joined because I am from a very single ethnic town. Nearly everyone I know is non-religious and I want to know more about other people's ideas and beliefs. But I wouldn't say I am here for answers because I have no intent of becoming religious. I also like debating.

Why am I here? Because I was bored.
After all, it's something to do and I have an interest in the subject material... so why not?
