Welcome to the forum Gary.
I am me.
I consider myself confused.
I am tired as well. But sleep doesn't seem to help.
I am not sure I am a conservative or a liberalist. But I guess if I knew, I wouldn't be confused, LOL.
Welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing you around.

Perhaps we share some things -- I am also retired (many years) and am quite serious.
Other areas we may differ -- I am not conservative (or traditional) in most areas. In what ways do you consider yourself conservative?
Our forum is by far the best of its type that I have found. It is civil and well administered / moderated. Many excellent debates occur in these threads.
I look forward to learning your views.

Re: Introducing myself
When I describe myself as a "conservative" I am describing myself from a political point of view.
I have been a life-long Republican, but have left the Republican party because I really feel they have left me. I am working to help get Dr. Alan Keyes elected as our President in 2008.
Dr. Keyes has a website called www.alankeyes.com. On his website is his bio and his position on 35 different issues.
I am seriously concerned that this nation is headed toward self-destruction due to the liberal and media adgendas that are being fostered upon us.
Please take a little time to tell me about yourself.
Thank you.

Post #8Glad to make your acquaintance.
While I describe myself as Serious, I hope I am not so serious as to have lost my sense of humor.
Look forward to seeing you in the forums.

Re: Introducing myself
Post #9I am very happy that Alan Keyes is running, and I hope he gets on the ballad on all 50 states, so that conservatives have someone to vote for.SeriousOne wrote:Hello Zzyzx

And I really would like to know what the 'media' adgenda is. I thought it was to sell their product and make money.. Most media seems rather conservative to me these days.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

SeriousOne,
Three unfortunate truths about American politics (that I paraphrase from others):
In a democracy the people get the government they deserve
There is no way that a qualified person who respects the constitution can be elected president.
There are only two kinds of people who seek political office – those who lust for power and those who lust for money. Both are a disaster for the electorate. The only solution is to find someone who does not want the job and give it to them.
All else is moot.
I agree that the nation is headed for great economic and social difficulty. I do not attribute the directions to liberalism or media (though both are involved) but rather to greed of special interests -- primarily corporate and financial organizations and career politicians and their cronies.
Above all, however, I fault the American public for allowing the Constitution to become “just a piece of paper” – and allowing its major protections of individual rights and liberties to be sacrificed in the name of “security” and “safety”.
