Intro and stuff - Kozi

Post by kozimoto »

I'm kozimoto.

I found this site from ex-christian.net, so I'll let you draw some conclusions about me from that.

I work as a scientist, and enjoy a nice tipple after dinner, followed by a constitutional walk and maybe a cup of tea before bed.

I'm antipodean, but please don't hold that against me.

Look forward to many good times on the site.

Cheers.

Hi Kozi. Did you follow my link I posted? Welcome! We have had some trouble with server crashes here recently so I'm glad you managed to make it in here now! (Osteng our admin assures us things are now sorted out ;) )

I'm enjoying a few beers at home right now, which I never would have done while I was a Christian. :)

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Hi, kozimoto  welcome to the board.

By the way, OnceConvinced (sorry to hijack your thread here, kozimoto), I've often wondered about the time difference between the UK and Australia/New Zealand. What is it?

Edit: ah never mind. I've just discovered it's 10.07 tomorrow morning. 12 hours. :D

Welcome to the forum kozimoto.

Myself, I sometimes enjoy tea or wine before bed too.

What kind of scientist are you?

Thanks for the welcome.

My area of science the covergent evolution of methanogens (methane producing archea) and their impact on methane production and human health.

Reducing methane is obviously high priority with respect to climate change, and methane production in humans could be linked to colorectal cancer or precancerous changes.

Hope your eyes haven't glazed over!
I find it exciting enough, anyway!
