Cornavirus why did god create it

Post by Donray »

Why did God create a new virus to kill people? This is a question for any Christain that believes in the Noah myth or creationism. Because if either is true then God did create this virus and did it to kill people.

Also, why does God allow this virus when he could wave his wand and get rid of it?

Maybe the bacteria and viruses were two by two on Noah's Ark. maybe Noah was a carrier of disease.

Perhaps He got bored with drowning, transforming people to salt, instantly striking down people who touch the wrong thing dead, etc. The God of the Bible seems pretty sadistic so the new virus seems tame in comparison.

First off, I apologize if I did not respond to this properly. I don't know how this website works. I was a member many years ago, but do not remember how to do things. A tutorial on how to reply and quote would be nice. If you or another member could supply me, it would be very appreciated.

Your whole post can be summarized very easily inside of Romans 9 (which quotes the OT very extensively for its theology.) You are begging the question as to why if God were benevolent, would He allow and/or kill people Himself. Correct?

You finish with a summarization that if He were benevolent, He would wipe away the pestilence. Correct?

The answer is actually very simple in the above cited reference. It states that Pharaoh was created for the express purpose of defying God so God can essentially show off to Israel (His betrothed wife.)

So yes, He created this virus, as well as every virus that has ever existed. He created WW2, etc

We may take this as a slight against modern perceptions of human rights, but if God is real, than He is the ultimate arbiter of whatever rights we may or may not possess.

Isa 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

So God is the source of ALL evil. That would mean the God is evil. God created the devil and hell. God created the black death and wiped out about half the population of Europe.

God is not the author of evil. Evil is not a created thing. It's like a wound on the arm or rust on a car or rot on a tree. Evil entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to follow Satan instead of God. Consequently, we all live in a fallen world where evil exists.

God did NOT create the corona virus. It's just one of the by-products of the Fall.

Is. 45:7 is often quoted by those who insist God is the author of evil. However, the Hebrew word in this verse refers to adversity or calamity or distress. And it's imperative that we read it in context. This passage talks about God rewarding Israel for obedience and punishing Israel for disobedience. Basically, what it's saying is that God would bring disaster on those who were hard-hearted and rejected him and his love. The King James Version of the Bible uses the word "evil" in its translation, but modern translations do not. See here:

Calling God morally culpable for evil is like calling an automobile manufacturer guilty because somebody intoxicated got behind the wheel of one of their cars and struck and killed someone crossing the street. People have free will. They can make bad choices.

To answer you Donray.

Yes, God is the ultimate source of all evil. If He wasnt than He wouldnt be much of a monotheistic deity, would He? God created the devil and hell. God created the black death. God is evil in the way that I presume you to presume Him to be.

The difference I have with you is that I dont cater to modern conceptions of rights or right and wrong. Just because something is right or wrong today doesnt mean it is actually right or wrong according to the Law of Moses.

Man, not God, is entirely reponsible for all deadly virusus, as the first human couple rebelled against God and introduced sickness and death to the human family.
