Since I am not an adherant to christianity, I am not a sinner. Christians steadily refer to non-christians as sinners, but we are not - indeed we could not be.
I think it is important to make the distinction, because I for one do not want to be judged by their twisted and impossible system of right and wrong. I think christians would do well to remember that non-christian = non-sinner.
Tired of being considered a sinner.

I have only anecdotal evidence of the existence of God. Unless you have the same, there is no proof that I could possibly show you.Darren wrote:Just because some guy said it, doesn't make it so.Greatest I Am wrote:Biblically, Jesus said that to even think evil or badly was to sin. Many also believe that he was his own father, yet that somehow he was not guilty of incest. As to the purpose of life, in a word, pleasure.
I expand this word to mean all the things we do for enjoyment from arts to science and all things in between.
God lives for the same.
What other possible reason could encompass all things?

You are a free agent and no one here can assign anything to you or anyone else for that mater. We are here to banty ideas around, not each other.Beto wrote:It would be, if one recognized that purpose for one's existence. If you have nothing that you ever regret doing or saying, then that is fine. If you are not a sinner that is fine as well. Enjoy the felling.

There is the proof that your god is awful. Love me or burn forever - so saith the lord lol.
By the way, isn't that you judging those who are prideful?
That is a really proud hat the pope wears!
Thats a paraphrase from the Bible. It's the self righteous who don't feel they have sinned is who is big trouble with God.
*I didn't judge in my post, I informed of judging. To say "oh that woman is big" is judging.
*I agree on your opinion on the Pope, but he isn't my Pope, I am a Baptist.
*There was no proof given in my text of God being awful. Rather I pointed out that He understands our short comings and allows us a chance to redeem ourselves before him through Christ, in following him he does give promises of salvation and a good life. Look up Gods promises and see if you would like to have that.
Most important of all- If you were God, what would do with your children? Would you not give them a fair chance?
If you dont believe in God, then you better be right

There is no evidence anywhere, of god or gods, that could not be explained by hallucination.Greatest I Am wrote:I have only anecdotal evidence of the existence of God. Unless you have the same, there is no proof that I could possibly show you.

I would not toy with lives (such as Yahweh did with Abraham and Isaac). I would not call your god 'fair', either. How many people are born with defects which make their life a living hell? Your god is the miracle-worker behind this, if the bible is to be believed.fisherofmen wrote:Most important of all- If you were God, what would do with your children? Fair? Fair your god isn't. Is it fair to say to all humans "you are born in debt, and only if you work rituals in a special way will you be cleansed. If you do it wrong, you burn for eternity."
There is another spot of unfairness. Your god punishes eternally for things that were minor in comparison.

In other words, he understands our shortcomings, but if we chant the magic words and kiss butt, he won't burn us forever. The way you present it , it makes God out to be an extortionist.fisherofmen wrote:There is the proof that your god is awful. Love me or burn forever - so saith the lord lol.

And this has become such an issue because of Paul's self hatred.fisherofmen wrote: I'm a sinner, I sin all day, God sees every bit of it, but he forgives and understands it's impossible for us to be any other way, because were born with "sinful nature", or what the Catholics call "original sin".
I am not a sinner. Sin is a transgression against the supposed 'laws of god'. This god does not exist ergo sin does not exist.

I find not only it is sorry to have such a low opinion of humanity, but such a low opinion of God. To think that God would give someone a 'one way ticket to the furnace' for being God has made them tells me more about the person than God.bernee51 wrote:Is you god a loving god? Be more careful about what you write than. I don't remember saying that. Does "straw man" ring a bell?If you have nothing that you ever regret doing or saying, then that is fine.
It does feel rather nice. Thank you.If you are not a sinner that is fine as well. Enjoy the felling.
