I've seen a lot of creationists arguing that radiometric dating is wrong for one reason or another, and that the fossil record is actually just a byproduct of a global flood or some such. Well, that's all dandy, but if the Earth is less than 6000 years old, then why are able to see stars that are light years away?
Do you deny the speed of light?
Perhaps you believe that these stars are actually much closer than they appear, and we measured wrong?
Or were they created millions (or in some cases billions) of years ago, well before the Earth?
Does light somehow reach us faster when the source is farther away?
I could come up with these hypotheses all day, but quite frankly there isn't a single reason to assume any of them. If someone wants to explain this part of the young Earth theory to me I think I've done plenty to give you some ideas to brainstorm with.
So, once again, given a model of a universe that is approximately 6000 years of age, how do you explain the observation of distant stars?
If the fossil record is wrong and the world is 6000yrs old

So I don't get it, is this an admission that he is actually a poser, parodying a YEC, or am I just totally misinterpreting his use of "flat-Earthers" and "Troll" ?xcept wrote:Ok I will admit me posting the creationwiki was a troll job. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I knew it would inflame you flat earthers and I was pretty much spot on.
Back on topic, the fossil record isn't wrong. Its merely evidence, how it is interpreted is wrong. Index fossils for example. There are many of these supposed index fossils which are still living today but supposedly died out around the time they are said to be indexed. Fish, crustaceans and even insects. Why would they completely disappear from the geologic column and show up still alive? How is that even a possibility within the confines of evolutionary theory?
Doubt is not the end, but only the beginning of pursuit.

Like Joey I suspect there is an element of butt covering with the troll admission.Bio-logical wrote:So I don't get it, is this an admission that he is actually a poser, parodying a YEC, or am I just totally misinterpreting his use of "flat-Earthers" and "Troll" ?xcept wrote:Ok I will admit me posting the creationwiki was a troll job. The flat earther comment a poor ad hominem.
It matters not - "xcept" will most likely go the same way as his previous incarnation on this forum.

Isn’t this enough? Just this world?
Just this beautiful, complex, wonderfully unfathomable natural world?
How does it so fail to hold our attention
That we have to diminish it with the invention
Of cheap, man-made Myths and Monsters?

This thread is not about evolution!
Anyway, xcept, it's called an argument from ignorance for a reason. It only makes you look ignorant. Unless you can come up with something better than "evolution is wrong because it can't explain X" then you should probably stop arguing, because whatever X is, I'm willing to bet that there's an explanation that you just haven't taken the time to look for. If you're trying to prove us wrong, then you're going to have to tell us why our explanations are wrong, not try to claim they don't exist.

Must I always explain the obvious to you neandertals? I posted the Big Bang link from CreationWiki
A. It was on topic
B. It would annoy the more outspoken members/mostly atheists
C. Its kinda boring being so serious all the time and thought I would liven it up a bit
D. Hence the "flat-earther" remark.
I love Christmas! Its awesome to be reminded of Christ and what He has done for mankind. The words peace on earth and goodwill towards men... is from God to us. Not to each other. Christ died so we can have grace from God.
Hey like to hear something interesting! My latest and greatest. I have been discussing Christianity with a man from Ghana who is a Muslim. He is converting and so is his mother. I sent them bibes and a nice book called from Jihad to Jesus.
See now that's what happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon a man seeking after the truth.
Dark matter is false, evolution is false, millions and billions of years are a sham. You have no real factual proof for any of it.
Oh and no, I have never before been on your site before now.

It looks like xcept doesn't expect to be here much longer.
I don't see him as representing anything Christian or other.

why should I have to represent all things Christian? You don't, neither does anyone else in this forum.Cathar1950 wrote:It looks like xcept doesn't expect to be here much longer.

What's it really matter? Seriously? Its not like any of you really want any real answers from Christians. You just hate Christians and Christ so much you seek to belittle anyone that steps into your turf and talk to you. You wanna walk around being sarcastic intellectuals, I think I can poke fun at you once in a while.
So let me reiterate. The big bang is false. No evidence that's proved at all.
Evolution is false, there is no proved facts that are absolutely verified within the entire theory in any place.
You believe your theory is a fact then where's the absolute proof, let's end this debate once and for all.
