The "Plan"

Post by connermt »

Many (believers or no) like to say that we are living "god's plan" in that it was his plan: for man to sin and to offer up himself/son/self/son/self/son as a sacrifice to 'save his creation from eternal hell'.

Do you think this is his plan? If so, why? Why not another plan? Surely he could have done anything he wanted, yet he decided this course of action. Why do you think this is?

Or if you don't think this is his plan, why not? Surely he could have done anything he wanted, so why didn't he change the course the world's taken? Why do you think he would do this?

Form what I've seen of your posts, the only understanding you appear to have of life is that "Goddunnit" - at the very least, I've learned a whole lot more about life than that, in fact, enough to understand "Godswerenotrequiredtodoit"
He is more interested in what a rock can do for him than why he is alive.
I understand why I'm alive and I understand that rocks can provide a whole lot more value than an invisible sky daddy. Rocks can actually keep me alive.

There we have it people, not only can rocks keep us alive. But when without a shovel, "they" can help cover us when we are dead. Ah...the rock, one of man best friends.
We are alive to be buried by the rock.

Yet our next atheist brings hope to all the world with his inspired knowledge of the rock....Yes people the Gospel of the rock, coming soon to book store all round.

Of course, if we only think in terms of bringing hope and inspired knowledge as Gospel, then everything resembles that which comes from a holy book, rocks included.

It's when we think in terms of reality do we relinquish our need of the Gospel and anything resembling a holy book.

Therefore, bringing hope or inspired knowledge to reality cannot be distinguished from selling snake oil because everyone can observe and acknowledge reality to see it doesn't even offer snake oil, hope or inspired knowledge. Why should it?

But of course, we know people still buy snake oil. :)

Yes....That's why 95% of the world is living in a dream world and only atheist understand reality.
One wonders why all people don't all run to your so called"reality" Since it can be so liberating. You guys need a person like Saint Paul to spread your good news.

Thats the great thing about not believeing...We don't have to spread anything...Time just makes everything clearer...Even the great Zeus in all his power and glory just faded away...To nothing but a mythical memory...I was forced to believe...And in the end I broke away from it...I didn't force my wife or push my views now she is agnostic...I let my kids have "free will" They choice not to believe..And thats whats happing every where... The kids are not being pushed to church and now the church has lost at least 2 generations...Time will end these myths...And hopefully humanity will start worring about all humanity..

I don't go to church.....I haven't been there for years. My mother always took me , however I never cared for it, since I knew more about God, than the Priest, plus I was so young I was bored out of my tree.

But I do respect people that go. Not all are like me.

Speaking of understanding reality, statistics show that Christianity comprises 2.1 billion, Islam 1.5 billion and non-religious/atheist 1.1 billion, which means your number of 95% is way off target. Is that how you understand reality?

No need to run anywhere, you and I share exactly the same reality and there isn't anything different you can show me about it than I can show you.

To liberate oneself would be to let go the dream world and embrace reality for what it is.

Yeah but you still have to put in perspective that they have lost a huge chunk of the younger generation...Once the so call Baby Boomers are gone this country will be around 50/50...And like I said in time it will be just another God thrown in the big Myth/ Legend Pyle.

Hebrews 10:25: not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

As a Biblical literalist, how can you justify your lack of church attendance? Just curious.
