How is one saved?

Some people say you need to pray the sinner's prayer, some say believe in Jesus... is there a clear instruction from the Bible how to be saved?

I don't believe there is any scripture to support this. :(

What kind of love only wants/accepts those who are sure they want him? I don't believe that is love nor what the Bible teaches is love. That is favoritism which is evil.

You're confusing love with want.

God loves all of us. Thus wants all of us to be happy.

Consequently, he does not force everlasting life upon anyone. He leaves the choice to us.

If you love someone, and take him or her by force against their will -- is that love? #-o

shnarkle: Paul points out that left to our own devices, we will always choose rebellion. He also points out that whatever we choose to do, if it be in the flesh; it will never be pleasing to God. It is only after one has been given the gift of repentance, called, etc. that one can even make the right decision AND have it be pleasing to God.
---------------------------------

If you love someone, and take him or her by force against their will -- is that love?

shnarkle: Will is also a moot point with Paul. "it isn't he who wills or he who runs, but God who shows mercy." What amount of will or effort did anyone ever exert in being begotten, conceived, or born??? Whether it was in the flesh or in the spirit, the answer is still zilch, nada, nothing. we had nothing to do with it, we had no say ina the matter. The Holy Spirit goes where HE wills, not where we will. Someone also pointed out recently that no amount of will or effort can turn wolves into sheep, or tares into wheat. Which brings up another point. The good shepherd doesn't ask the lost sheep if they want to come back to the sheepfold. He just picks them up and takes them back. This is because of a number of reasons. 1. They were given to him, 2. He paid for them, thus 3. they're HIS SHEEP.

What do these verses mean?
Matt 11:27 wrote:All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
John 17:25 wrote:O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You
John 1:4-5 wrote:In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:9-10 wrote:There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
1 Cor 2:14 wrote:But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

No, actually the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost goes where God wills. Presently that is the good Earth:
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)

And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (Acts 1:4-5)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

I guess I am claiming that God has not revealed the meaning of these verses to you. They are the key to unlocking a huge part of the new covenant and their understanding will prove a large portion of your doctrine to be false. Until you understand these, you will not understand the point I am making.

If you do not understand the point you are making, how can you explain it to me? :confused2:

I have come to understand that you want nothing to do with learning God's Word and growing closer to Jesus. You are only looking for someone to argue with.
2 Tim 2:14 wrote:Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.
Good luck.

We-live-now claims to be greatly versed and studied in regard to the Bible:
we-live-now wrote:I have studied the bible many times for hundreds if not thousands of hours and not once has this doctrine even occurred to me or anyone in the Churches I have been a member of.
Why does he not want to share his revelation of the understanding of these five verses which unlock the new covenant?

Is that Christian? :-k
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, . . . (Matthew 28:19)
Oh well, guess unlocking the new covenant isn't that important.

Myth, are you really a believer? I don't know how you could be because you don't seem to understand that you have the Holy Spirit inside you who should be teaching you these things. This verse should have already been an amazing personal experience, but it doesn't seem that way.
1 John 2:27 wrote:As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.
Based on your writings, God has not revealed to you that his very Spirit is inside you right now. If you don't know this, then you must not be a believer. All the things I am saying the Spirit of God is revealing inside all true Christians right now. Unbelievers do not know these things and cannot know them until God reveals them.
Matt 13:11 wrote:He replied, "Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
John 6:45 wrote:It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
You still don't believe John 6:45 because you believe and teach the false doctrine that man himself decides if he "Loves God or not". That is a nice idea, but it is also a lie. Re-read John 6:45 again, especially the part at the end that I highlighted and underlined. All who are supposed to believe, WILL believe and they ALL come to Jesus and be taught the secrets of the Kingdom. This teaching will come from within a person via scripture confirmation, not from outside via humans.

Need more proof that your understand of "us loving God by our own choice" is a private interpretation of scripture and completely unbiblical? I can show you LOTS of it, but I don't think you will see it. You seem to be blinded by the entire system of false doctrines you have strung together to create a God (of your imagination) who is supposed to be "Love" yet creates BILLIONS of people that he will KILL FOREVER! Well, let me show you what the real God of the Bible says he is like. The REAL God of the Bible has removed man from the equation because he knows man will mess it up. The real God of the bible made a second agreement (covenant) with himself via his Son because man messed up the first one. God loved us all so much that HE TOOK OUR PLACE and fulfilled OUR SIDE for us and we get the benefit! That is REAL LOVE and that is the REAL God of the bible that you are blinded to.

So, what is it that really causes us to be saved and become a Christian (born again)? Let's see:
1 Peter 1:3 (NASB) wrote:Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NASB) wrote:For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
John 15:16 (NASB) wrote:You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
This ONE verse alone shows us that your doctrine of "us choosing God" is a lie. It is also a lie that Jesus meant this just for his disciples. All whom God appoints to believe in this life ARE CHOSEN and WILL become believers (Christians) to go bear fruit.

Here is another KILLER that destroys the false doctrine of man choosing God. Read it carefully so you don't miss it.
John 1:13 (NASB) wrote:who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Do you see that? Christians are born NOT of their own will! God causes this to happen INSIDE them at his appointed time.
Philippians 2:13 (NASB) wrote:for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NASB) wrote:But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
Romans 11:32 (GW) wrote:God has placed all people into the prison of their own disobedience so that he could be merciful to all people.
Romans 9:18 (NASB) wrote:So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.
God placed every human into a body that is natural and totally "darkened" not knowing him at all and even completely unable to see him. This is our default "natural mind" that does not know God. Why did he do this? So that he can be the one who decides who believes and when according to his perfect plan. Man plays no role in this process other than receiving or being a vessel or container. Man by himself can NOT know God at all unless/until God intervenes. This is why Jesus died for us, to reveal the father (God) to us through his Spirit that was given to all of us. Here's more that shows us our faith and salvation does NOT come from us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB) wrote:For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Our faith when we believe God and become saved it a total GIFT from God and is "not of yourselves". Why? "so that no one may boast". This is SUCH good news because this shows the AMAZING GOODNESS of GOD and that our will or desires have no part in this process. God causes it to happen from start to finish. Otherwise, we would brag and God says that "no flesh shall boast in his presence". He gets all the glory and honor when we arrive there!

Have you had enough? I have about 30 other verses just like these that show your doctrine of "man chooses God" is a complete lie!

Now, if you are a believer, then you would ALREADY have (and know) the things that I am showing you. However, you don't see to have them. Thus, I can only conclude that you are an unbeliever without the Spirit inside you and operating out of your natural mind in Adam. This is why the truths that I so excitedly share with you seem like utter foolishness to you.
John 14:17 wrote:the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
It's plain and simple. If you don't have or know the Holy Spirit who is teaching these things, you are of the World and are an unbeliever, a natural man who can't accept the things of the Spirit.
1 Cor 2:14 wrote:But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
Lord Jesus, please speak to Myth now in his inner man. If it is your will, please reveal him the truth of your amazing goodness and love.

God bless you.
