Post #131IMO no you can't because Jesus atoned for those who know not the will of God concerning them. Mosiah 3:11 "For behold, and also his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the will of God concerning them, or who have ignorantly sinned.".help3434 wrote: [Replying to post 43 by we-live-now]
So you can be condemned for not believing something that you don't even know about? Yeah, that makes sense.

Why would anybody , particularly someone who rejected Christianity in general, worry about something that is in the Book of the Mormon?
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Goat you misunderstand me. I make no rejection of Christianity. I am an active believing member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.

Post #134Yet, you make a quote of scripture from the Book of the Mormon to those people who fell away?? Why?? What is the point?officer2002 wrote: [Replying to post 131 by Goat]

lie to begin with.
It's clearly every bit as false as Greek mythology.
There was not "falling away".
I simply realized that this religion cannot possibly be true.

The Biblical account of Got cannot possibly be true.
It's just not even in the running for a picture of a sane creator, IMHO.
And here you are supporting Mark 16:16 who would condemn people for merely not believing that our creator is an insane bumbling idiot.
Why should I believe that in the first place?
And why should I be condemned for refusing to believe it?
If there is a God, he should take it as a compliment that I totally reject the Bible as having anything at all to do with him.
To believe that the Bible describes God is the surest way to demean and degrade God.
Your whole post was as if you were dictating my own thoughts.
Especially these parts (and the general idea that if Yahweh exists, then we are really damned.
If Yahweh is our God, I pray that Goodness help us all and would save us from his tyranny and loathesome view of humanity and his vision of Life. What a despicable person would use violence and damnation to teach his children? And on such a huge scale?

Is it right to expect favor from our Creator without trust and obedience to Him?
Isn't it logical that we reap what we sow?
Christ Jesus was/is His "vision of Life".

Post #138If God did not want his children to perish, then he would not have such an overwhelming wrath against us. God, according to the Christians, is like the abusive father who expects his children to be grateful when he withholds his beatings from them.YahDough wrote: A good Parent who doesn't want His children to perish.

According to what Christians? I think you mean according to the "ex-Christians".God, according to the Christians, is like the abusive father who expects his children to be grateful when he withholds his beatings from them.
But I am grateful God helps me to live a life that is worthy of blessings from Him and not "beatings".

It is impossible that Yahdough understands the Bible or what a God would want. It's offensive that God would use such a poor example of humanity to convey His desires.
No offense, Yahdough, but I'm sure God asks more of us than quoting the Bible when engaged in debate about God.
Of course, God doesn't exist, so everything Yahdough says is comical - if it weren't so offensive to Reason and civil discourse.
