Does it matter what Jesus looked like?

I did a bit of research this evening concerning what Jesus might have looked like if he had existed as a historical figure and it got me to thinking a bit about the depiction of Jesus and the whole scene back then. There is some recent work that has been done in this area that concludes a rather homely savior:
* A bit over 5' tall, 110lbs, very dark sun dried skin, short & dark wiry hair. All in all, a small, scrappy, gnarly dude. I don't want to debate the science that went into reconstructing Jesus. It was extensive and has not been the basis of great challenge by most Christians.
But ultimately, it should not matter should it? It should only be a matter of curiosity but not really make any difference in our faith.....right? Why then do we - especially in the West - make Jesus in our own image?

The Jesus TV channels do this to the extreme. Last Xmas I watched the story of Joseph & Mary on the local Jesus channel and was happily appalled that Mary looked to be about 5' 10", long, slender shaven legs, long blond hair, clean, pearly white teeth, a perfect figure, high cheek bones and beautiful sparkling blue eyes. She was absolutely hot and no amount of sack-cloth garments could hide it. Same with Joseph (Of Malibu?).
But why? Why not make them more realistic? I have yet to see ONE Chrisitian-made film where the main characters have rotten teeth, scraggly hair, flies buzzing around their unclean backsides. And they all speak proper Elizabeathen English - even though rarely quoting the bible (only words from the bible; what a horrible screenplay that would be!) with American accents and communicate with typical modern gestures and expressions.
Why?

You DO exist - and you are back from heaven!
Man, I bet you are PISSED with what people have been doing, saying and teaching in your name.

Tell truth the name point is this Yeshua means Salvation in Hebrew even untill this day and when we look at "Yes you are" instead of Moses with his (I Am), when clearly Heaven is Oneness....Hopefully you see some points...

Also that given in Act's that it explains bar-jesus means fake prophet depends which names people use doesn't it...especially when Eshu is an African prophecy concerning the same matter of Rascim.
So when all the additions and deductions are done...
The Spirit is the point and in that, we have to remove all the (I am) teachings given by the Pharisee.
unless you know the spirit of Yes you are and so can vouch that you wouldn't stand, for what you know is wrong?
As many do, being sacrifice; by the following of any of the pharisee teachings, so clearly not knowing the spirit...
So when no one really knows who you are, then it really wouldn't matter that much as from what I see, we are unsure if anyone would really grasp all of whom Yeshua is, with all the translations errors and misguiding Pharisees being all of John, Paul and Simon the stone peter...

Peace B with U

Hey....you're not Jesus!
You are Dr. Bronner - from Dr. Bronner's castile soap company! I'd know your philosophical teachings anywhere.

However, I want to know why Christians insist upon a sexy Jesus.

Didn't say I was!
He died 2000 years ago, and was called Yeshua..well then again also in 1066 it also looks like yet that is a second story still covered up.

Don't know also the son of man and ancient of days wouldn't, as he might see these events still to come...also know that anything that is risen up to much always gets shot down... O:)
So just being is the most fun...being this or that... leads to expectations and so always these lead to some form of disappointment for someone along the line....and the day you say you know you truly don't...so I don't know :)

You've seen Jesus? Tell us about it!

I most certainly have! Check out Wizanda's avatar. Now THAT, my friend, IS Jesus. At least according to the Christian books and pictures of Him that I see every day.
