So why would a spirit-only god need to eat and drink? Why would he command his people to prepare food and drink for him every single day?2timothy316 wrote: Spirit, if one believes what the Bible says.
Ex 33:20; Joh 1:18; 1Ti 1:17; Joh 4:24; 2Co 3:17, 18
And how would this spirit god be able to eat and drink with Abraham in Gen 19? Wouldn't the stuff just fall through onto the floor?
And if he had no body, why was Moses able to see his hind parts? And why would this god tell Moses not to look at his face, if he had no face? Or was it a spirit face??
Very strange....

Thank you for pointing out this contradiction in the bible. This god demanded that his people prepare him food and drink every day. He showed his hind parts to Moses. Spirits - especially omniscient and omnipotent ones - would hardly have any need for a kosher cheeseburger and a glass of merlot.2timothy316 wrote: If God is also flesh then He is He will not be allowed to stay in Heaven.

If God is not also man, the man is not made in the image and likeness of God. You provide no scriptures to support your belief. If you believe the Bible is the word of god, read it and prove why I am wrong

It is not a contradiction, their belief is contrary to the word of GOD.

You are correct, but there is an entire Bible to consider and it is inescapable that God made man in His image and likeness requires God to also be flesh, because the word of God is true.

That is how you read Genesis 1:26-27.B Bob wrote: [Replying to post 53 by Checkpoint]

Man is made in God's image and likeness, but that does not mean God is like man. He is not in our image and likeness.
Read Numbers 23:19 and Hosea 11:9.

You are giving a straw man argument. I am not saying God is like man. I am saying God must be spirit and flesh because He made man of spirit and flesh. Man is not diety, but he is made in the image and likeness of God.
If you cannot accept the word of God because Gen 1:126-27 leads to Christ as being the Lord God in which we were created in the image and likeness of God, then you do not believe what God said by ignoring the scriptural truth about the only true God - see John 3:20, Jude 1:4, who as the brother of Jesus recognized Jesus as the Lord God (the one called Jehovah) who delivered His people out of Egypt was Jesus Christ. also see Jude 1:25 -Jesus is Jehovah, Lord of all!.
Please don't intentional disregard the scriptures so you can believe something that is errant and false. You salvation depends on believing the word of God, and nothing else. I pray you take the attitude and spirit odf the noble Bereans and search the scriptures to see if what I have said is true.

What you are saying is that God is like you understand man to be, both spirit and flesh. You are giving a straw man argument. I am not saying God is like man. Funny thing is, if I said, then God is male and female in that flesh, you would hardly be impressed, perhaps.
Those verses only lead there in your mind, not in reality.
Jesus tells us who "the only true God" is, that it is not him but his Father.
This passage in John explains the meaning of the Jude verses you cited.John 17:
1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you,
2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him.
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
God the Father alone is Lord, He always has been and always will be, it is part of who He is as the only true God.
The lordship of Jesus Christ is given to him by the Father as Messiah with all that that means. Jesus is not Jehovah.
There are two lords, not one, and they are not the same. That is why we have Psalm 110.
Two lords, and one, the only true God, is supreme over the other.
Revelation 11:15:
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdomof our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.
1 Corinthians 15:
24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet. But when it says, “all things are put in subjection, it is plain that He is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.
28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to Him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. That is exactly what I have done, taken the attitude of the Bereans. Please don't intentional disregard the scriptures so you can believe something that is errant and false. You salvation depends on believing the word of God, and nothing else. I pray you take the attitude and spirit odf the noble Bereans and search the scriptures to see if what I have said is true.
My search of the scriptures has found what is true.
