The time from 1914 up to now has been spent, by Jesus and his followers, intently warning the world about the coming Great Tribulation that will get rid of the nations for good.
The communication has been remarkably low key, then. Jesus should have made use of modern means of communication, such as the Internet. I haven't heard. Presumably he's been moving round the Sea of Galilee and was maybe stopped from entering Jerusalem, with or without a mule. I hope he didn't try to enter Mecca.
If children are being asked to digest this stuff then I think it is time to call a halt to it. Were it confined to a few adults, it would be harmless I suppose.

Post #42Jesus HAS been using the Internet. We've been alerting people to the existence of www.jw.org for a few years now, door-to-door, informally, at our carts and kiosks on the streets of major cities. I'm surprised that you haven't been made aware of this.marco wrote:onewithhim wrote:

Children LOVE the videos that have been made.....there are many, and they are only 3 to 5 minutes. You can see what they are by going on the website.

Post #43I don't see the connection between Jesus and "we've". Some people may think they are acting for Jesus; others may suppose they are Jesus but if Jesus in in fact speaking, using the tongues of ordinary folk, his message should carry a certain obvious credibility and an unmistakeable imprimatur. Nothing I've seen suggests to me that Jesus is inspiring the writings. Walt Disney, maybe.onewithhim wrote:

The children have my deep sympathy. I hope many of them have the courage to think for themselves when they grow out of the images offered to them.

Explain why WWI is a bigger deal than WWII? More countries involved in WWII than WWI.

Post #45I am going by what historians have said about the Great War. THEY say that it was WORLD WAR ONE. Not me, not the Watchtower. So if you want to discover how it affected Antarctica, do some research into its history.Donray wrote:Explain how WWI involved or affected Antarctica?onewithhim wrote: Why do you say that what happened in 1914 was NOT a world war? No one said that WWI was a bigger deal than WWII. WWI was the BEGINNING of peace being taken away from the earth. It got worse from there.

Post #46Can you describe the century where they was no war? Why don't you tell us the names of these historians that think WWI was the start of major wars? Bet you cannot.onewithhim wrote:I am going by what historians have said about the Great War. THEY say that it was WORLD WAR ONE. Not me, not the Watchtower. It is pure BS that WWI 1914 was the start of wars. WWI did not even involve a majority of the countries or people.
Again, tell me the century where there was no war.

Post #471914 marked the start of yet another war. 100 years before that the world was engulfed in the Napoleonic Wars. There was a great deal of dishonesty about the failed predictions that involved 1914 but one would have supposed that by 2014 any talk of 1914 as being significant would have stopped. It is a tribute to man's incredible ability to distort truth in the folds of hope and faith that we are actually discussing this nonsense now.onewithhim wrote:

Post #49There was relative peace in the world before WWI. There was never any war that involved, in some way, the entire world. I already said that Will Durant was one historian that drew attention to the significance of WWI. Others are:Donray wrote:Can you describe the century where they was no war? To see that historians called the outbreak of WWI "the year the world went mad," see www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread597506/pg1 as well as www.rcinet.ca/en/2014/07/28/july-28-191 ... -went-mad/ . WWI was not the START of wars. I never said that. I said that WWI was the biggest, most destructive war UP TO THAT TIME, and that it involved the whole world, which was UNPRECEDENTED. If WWI did not even involve a majority of the countries of the world, why do historians call it WORLD WAR I?

Post #50Yes,nit got worse from there, if you mean WWII. But since then it has gotten better. Yes, there has been numerous proxy wars and civil wars, but never has any major power gone to war directly with another major power since 1945. Your chances of being killed deliberately by another human is lower now than it has ever been.onewithhim wrote:No one said that WWI was a bigger deal than WWII. Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
