It depends on your perspective.

A. 2 Samuel 4:10
when someone told me, 'Saul is dead,' and thought he was bringing good news,

B. Acts 13:32
"We tell you the good news: What God promised our ancestors .....

What God promised "our ancestors" is that "David will be king" rule the "stick of Judah" combined with the "stick of Israel", in the land God "I gave to Jacob my Servant" (Ezekiel 37:15-28), and this following Daniel 2:44, where first I will "crush and put an end to all these kingdoms", referring to the head of gold through the feet of iron and clay. (Daniel 2:35).

Yes. The Good News that Jesus spoke about is clear when we study his ministry. He mentioned the Kingdom---government by God---more times than anything else. It was the focus of his entire sojourn on Earth. He called "the Kingdom" the Good News (Matt.24:14). He said that the Kingdom is the reason he was sent forth.

"...I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth." (Luke 4:43)

God promised Israel's ancestors that David would rule, and He kept His promise. David's sons would be on the throne for all time, and this was fulfilled in the ascension of Jesus Christ to that throne, eventually crushing and putting an end to all governments of mankind (as you said, per Daniel 2:44).

Hello, my wonderful friends! I think that the good new is that all of the things that we find to separate us, God has brought together. We are far more alike than we could ever be different. We love, we grieve, we laugh, we cry, we have joy, and experience sadness.we are people. A people who despite our mistakes and selfish tendencies, are loved far more than we are capable of understanding.

Gospel, God's spell. Meant to confound, I wonder.

The "Good News" is that we can establish a relationship with God on earth. We can experience His love and guidance. Our sin can be forgiven because Jesus took on the penalty of hell which we would have had to go through if He hadn't. We will have everlasting life with Him and there will be no more suffering and Satan.

If Jesus came to spread this "good news" then he wasted a lot of time in telling us umpteen other things. This is a footnote to what he said, only an interpretation, rather than a main message.

Are we saying that Jesus, then, was an unsuccessful communicator?

Emphasis MINE

Regarding "the kingdom [of God]: "The Kingdom" is mentioned over 100 times in the gospels most of which by Jesus himself; that means that Jesus spoke about the kingdom more than he did "faith", nearly twice as much as "love" and more than twice as many times as "mercy" and "kindness" combined.

Then if this phrase was the point of his mission, he failed in his communication. In Greek mythology Olympus is mentioned frequently too. People already had an idea of heaven or the kingdom of God. If we require footnotes to explain some mysterious and unlikely scenario about Jesus being Secretary of State with maybe Moses as Foreign Ambassador, then as I said, Jesus failed. If we are to make deductions from "Thy Kingdom come" which used to puzzle my boyhood brain then that's hardly good enough.

What was the Good News? It is far from clear.

Marco!!!! I find great joy in conversing with you! Maybe, we are making the good news to complicated. Grace, the good news is grace! Despite all our rather unpleasant quirks, we are given grace.

What is "The Good News?

Though you are sinners, faith in Christ Jesus as your saviour will save you from your addiction to evil and the legal consequences of being a sinner.
PCE Theology as I see it...

We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.

This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.
