All the Chrildren of the World

Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world.

I dutifully sang this during my weekly brainwashing sessions at Sunday school. (But not always with the image of an execution device in the background.)

But in later years, I discovered that Jesus' propagandists did not actually have him say that he loved all the children of the world.

Did the Gospel propagandists just forget to mention that Jesus loves all the children of the world …?

Were Jesus and his propagandists more interested in their quest for political power than they were about foreign kiddies …?

Have later Christians had to embellish and inflate the propaganda to make the Jesus character into what they WANT him to have been …?
"God" … just whatever humans imagine it to be.

"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.

I'll accept that wage, and rebuttal with "Jesus loves you"

The very clear answer is YES.

maybe... im not too sure... This is "The Last Judgement" by Michelangelo in the Vatican, Sistine Chapel... There is two images of Jesus in the Picture... The one in the middle of Jesus basically commanding the world, and the one on the bottom, dead on a cross... The one on the bottom is actually real, its not in the image, its a real cross in the room.... Bummer for Jesus... died on a cross... I guess he wasnt really loving children at that moment... just dying...

I have very little idea of what your Christian message is here, or how it relates to the OP …?

Nonetheless:

Perhaps you agree that the above image is Christian propaganda that is an embellishment on the Jesus that is given in the original propaganda …?

If you review this thread, I think you'll find Sally has put the claims made about Jesus on trial. If a real God were put on trial, one would think he could defend himself.

Instead we find that the idea of God is defended not by a God of any kind, but rather by those who depend on the idea of a God being true.

If a real God ever shows up, he can defend himself. I for one will be watching for his defense.

I too sang that song, but often wondered how. And why?
Did the Gospel propagandists just forget to mention that Jesus loves all the children of the world …?
Maybe. Or maybe they themselves didn't like kids and thought it not worth mentioning.
Were Jesus and his propagandists more interested in their quest for political power than they were about foreign kiddies …
Probably. And forget about foreign kids, but foreigners in general.
Have later Christians had to embellish and inflate the propaganda to make the Jesus character into what they WANT him to have been …?
Absolutely. Not just with kids but with all kinds of things. Jesus and his group were so localized it's necessary to spread out 'the good new' to others outside his limited geological arena.
