. . . given power to tempt man, thus leading man into sin and eventually causing him to go to hell?

Couldn't god have done it without Satan's help?

Spirtual bodies are for only Jesus and his co-rulers, since they will be in the heavenly realm forever. Mortal man needs no spiritual body for they will be living in physical bodies here on Earth. (See Psalm 37: 9-11 and 29; Isaiah 11:6-9; Matthew 5:5.)

The burial and future resurrection of Christians is described in First Corinthians:

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (I Corinthians 15:42-45)

This scripture is not complicated.

The Christian body that is sown is corruptible, dishonored, weak, and a natural body. This is the physical body which is buried like a seed, or sown, when we die.

At the resurrection, all deceased Christians are raised up as incorruptible, glorified, powerful, spiritual bodies.
No, that scripture is referring to the co-rulers with Christ when they change and go to heaven in spirit bodies.
The 144,000 who go to heaven are 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Paul is writing to the Christians at Corinth, and he is describing what occurs with the deceased bodies of Christians.

Deceased Christians are buried with natural physical bodies, and will be resurrected as immortal spiritual bodies.

[Replying to JehovahsWitness in post #153]

Christianity divides mankind into two groups -- believers and nonbelievers, and both groups will be resurrected.

Believers will be resurrected at the Second Coming:

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (I Corinthians 15:22-23)

After all that are Christ's are resurrected at the Second Coming, all remaining to be resurrected will be nonbelievers.

And they will be resurrected after the Millennium:

But the rest of the dead (nonbelievers) lived not again until the thousand years were finished. (Revelation 20:4-5)

No one is resurrected during the Millennium.

Dear Miles,

Perhaps one should consider carefully that this all pertains to the God given gift of agency.

There must needs be opposition in all things.

Agency cannot be used to it's maximum level without opposition also being at a similar level.

I consider the Heavenly gift of Agency to be a mighty key to mankind in achieving our maximum potential. We can only ascend to our greatest potential or our greatest failure when this powerful godlike gift of agency is operated within a atmosphere of two opposing forces of similar magnitude. We are fully free in the highest sense to either act or be acted upon in determining our eternal destiny.

Each and every day we must use this mighty power of agency to choose whom we will obey, either God or the adversary!

What is the meaning of the phrase "come to life?" (Not come BACK to life. That's not what the Scripture you are referring to says.) The meaning is that the people will be coming to life everlasting. Not that they will be resurrected after the Millennium. You say that JWs change the words in the Bible, but YOU are doing that a lot. You add words, and also do not read a verse in context with the other verses around it. "Come to life----come to life everlasting." That is what the phrase means and no one has changed any words.

Wrong. Those that come back to life after the 1,000 years are all of the deceased nonbelievers. They are resurrected as humans, not to everlasting spiritual bodied life.

I didn't say they were resurrected as spirit people. They will be resurrected as physical people. And they are not ALL deceased nonbelievers. The majority will be believers by the end of the Millennial Reign.

You said they would be "coming to life everlasting." And the only life form which lasts forever is spiritual bodied life.
onewithhim wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2024 6:19 pmAnd they are not ALL deceased nonbelievers.
Yes, they are all nonbelievers.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (I Corinthians 15:22-23)

So all deceased believers will be resurrected to everlasting spiritual life at the Second Coming.

Christians living at that time will be changed into spirits at that same time.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (I Thessalonians 4:17)

After that occurs, there are no longer any living or buried human believers. All have received their rewards and are spiritual bodied beings.

And there will not be any additional human believers created during the Millennium as they have no teachers to teach them:

Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

So the only humans who Comprise the "rest of the dead" are nonbelievers, and they will be resurrected after the 1,000 years.

The "rest of the dead" are all those who will be resurrected back to the earth after the resurrection of the co-rulers of Jesus. The anointed holy ones to be with Jesus are to be resurrected before the earthly people, called the FIRST resurrection. The second one is all the non-anointed believers who have died and also millions who haven't heard about Jesus yet. They will be told, during the Millennial Reign. It will take awhile for people to really understand, so to say that they will be resurrected after the Thousand Years leaves them in a precarious position. They will know nothing about the truth and will be expected to stand firm for God when Satan tries to get everyone to side with him. That doesn't make sense. The Millennial Reign is a time of a lot of work, in many ways. Teaching the non-believers about God, building houses, cleaning up the mess that polluters have done to the earth...it will be a wonderful time of satisfying work.

"They will certainly build houses and inhabit them; they will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit....They will not labor in vain, or bear children for calamity; for they are the offspring of those blessed by the LORD [YHWH], and their descendants with them....The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent's food. They will do no evil or harm in all my holy mountain,' says the LORD." (Isaiah 65:21-25, NASB)
