As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I do not have a hope of going to heaven (when I speak of "heaven" I mean the spiritual abode/realm where God lives).
- Do you personally entertain the hope of going to heaven to spend eternity with God when you die? (if this question is too personal I respect if you do not want to share this information)
- If so, do you believe such a literal spiritual realm exists?
- Do you believe that Jesus is presently in heaven where God exists?
* My question is for people that do believe that a God exists, since I presume that those that do not believe in God do believe he exists anywhere and therefore there is no "heaven" where God is.

I'm sorry I couldn't glean from your answer, do you believe there is a location where the angels, and Jesus reside? If so do you believe you will ever reside there?

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

I never think I'm going to heaven but i do hope to be in paradise; hopefully never dying since it will soon be a reality. I think its important to keep that hope alive as we are living in dark times.
Thanks for your answer,
JW

Hoping and wishing don't make things come true.

Hope for a life after death and despair during this one. yuk.
Institutionalized depression.
Good luck with that.
It's only BEEN 2000 years.
Realists might understand that things never were so good.
As a skeptic, an agnostic and an atheist, I have no use of that hope of yours. And I sure don't need such a negative view of the one life I am SURE I have.
I went for a walk today.... what a sight.
A pure delight.

To take the stand that we know everything shuts the door to further learning.

Not at all, when I say "I think" I am expressing my opinion based on what I personally feel or believe. I was speaking about myself not anyone else. I know what I feel, if I say "I believe I am an man and that it is virtually if not totally impossible I will one day give birth", it's not an absolute statement but I believe a reasonable one.
Who knows if things will change, it would be presumptious of me to say I do. I am in no way even suggesting that I am omniscient.

Believing is "Feeling"
Do you FEEL it or BELIEVE it?
Are beliefs only just FEELINGS?
Your views about heaven are your own.
Nobody else has to believe they are true.
This doesn't include "FACTS" at all... just reason alone without the need for any facts.
Welcome to the fact free world that people like Donald Trump represents.
Whatever seems reasonable to Trump seems true to him, too.
This is how a delusion works.
I suggest that we pay a little more attention to FACTS, my friend.

So, as long as something is reasonable to you, you seem to believe it.JehovahsWitness wrote:

Re: Do you have the hope of going to heaven
Post #28I do not have the hope of going to heaven either. Like JehovahsWitness, I do not have any desire to do so. I have not been "born witness" (Romans 8:16) by God's Spirit that I have been called to be a co-ruler with Christ during his Thousand-Year Reign.rikuoamero wrote: [Replying to post 1 by JehovahsWitness]
Out of sheer curiosity, can you please outline what you mean by the above phrase? As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I do not have a hope of going to heaven
Do you mean
1) It is not likely, to the point of virtual impossibility, that you will go to heaven
2) You do not have a desire, a wish, to go to heaven?
The Bible promises a future for mankind that will be fulfilled in a wonderful paradise on the earth, just the way it was supposed to be before Adam rebelled.
Psalm 37:9-11,29
Isaiah 11:6-9
Isaiah 45:18

Re: Do you have the hope of going to heaven
Post #29In my estimation, you chose to reject the so-called "Christian" religion of your former years. I did this also. Your "rebellion" didn't make you hopeless. You just didn't know the true God yet. It was after my "rebellion" that I finally found the truth.OnceConvinced wrote:I once did as a Christian. In fact as a Christian I was convinced I was going to Heaven. There was no doubt in my mind.JehovahsWitness wrote: As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I do not have a hope of going to heaven (when I speak of "heaven" I mean the spiritual abode/realm where God lives).
- Do you personally entertain the hope of going to heaven to spend eternity with God when you die? (if this question is too personal I respect if you do not want to share this information)
It's sad for me now when I think about it. The belief in Heaven is no longer there. There is now no eternal life for me. This life on earth is all I have and I am most likely well over the half way mark. So much of my life was spent serving a God I now believe to be imaginary. It was heartbreaking for me when I lost my faith. Very difficult. It took a long time to get over. Even now, it saddens me to think that all my dreams of an afterlife have been shattered.
This is one reason why I can't believe there are Christians out there who believe that I wanted to rebel. That I chose to be an ex-Christian. It makes no sense at all. If it were a matter of desire I'd still be a Christian still believing I was looked after by God and was going to live forever. I can't see why anyone would not want to believe that.
You are still loved by God, and I believe that He looks after those with a good heart, even if they haven't gotten around yet to being His friend. He doesn't force anybody, and if people want Him to leave them alone, He will.
You have not ruined your hopes of living forever. Jehovah's people are preaching for Christ, and they tell the world about the coming Paradise under God's government. (Matthew 24:14) Ask Him to show you the truth.

I am surprised to find us in such agreement. My take is:
I'd rather burn with Gandhi, then party in heaven with a redeemed Hitler.

And what about the paradise that this physical earth was originally meant to be? (Isaiah 45:18; Psalm 37:9-11,29)
