I think we are in fantasyland when the Bible say a man - Noah - lived for 950 years. Why do anybody think it is not just fantasy? Maybe a muslim can help? Do you buy this solution...

In my book it is not forbidden to drink
Let us listen to SPEECH OF CHRIST (LOVE ONE ANOTHER!) from the book - Toward the Light - I will just quote that about drinking...

Your friend foreverBe prudent with all strong drink and dulling drugs; for you shall know that you yourselves must bear the full responsibility for the foolish, evil and wicked deeds that you commit when you lose control of your senses and of your will through carelessness or evil habits.

Drinking alcohol isn't condemned in the bible, getting drunk is condemned. Paul used the word spiritism at Gal 5:19-21--The Greek word= Pharmicia-thus drug addiction will keep one out of Gods kingdom just like drunkeness will.

As I see it. If you get drunk and do not sin then it is alright. Some can control themself, some can not (they should not get drunk). I like to get drunk once in a while. Just to break the normal state of mind. I sit at home and drink and has a good time with myself

Post #44Yes. I'll put aside that some cultured even applaud drunkenness (though I suspect they may just mean becoming enlivened and relaxed) but I have a Problem with the western idea that being drunk is nice and enjoyable. It has happened to me a couple of times and I now stop as seen as the Buzz gets too loud.
But you are correct that the Bible (NT or Old does not prohibit alcohol, provided (agreed) one does not get smashed. True Islam Does forbid alcohol, but apparently as a sacrifice as if you qualify for paradise you can hit the sauce eternally thereafter.
I don't know whether any Christian sects still do forbid alcohol, but I can only say 'good for them, and let them have a fun time with all their friends.

Best believe 1 Cor 6:9-11-It says drunkards will not inherit Gods kingdom. Which has more value to you?

Post #47Gods view matters, not mans--Drunkards will NOT inherit Gods kingdom--See at 1 Cor 6:9-11 it says--That is what some of you were = past tense, they turned around and repented and stopped doing those unacceptable sins. Reasonings from this heart(Jeremiah 17:9) looks at it differently than God does.Waterfall wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 3:27 am [Replying to kjw47 in post #45]

From one of my favorite compositions.
A Viennese refugee who made the first Mahler vocal record back in 1927, Jascha Horenstein was so smitten with Das Lied von der Erde that, asked soon after on his deathbed what he would miss, he said: never being able to conduct this work again.

George Orwell:: “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”
Voltaire: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
Gender ideology is anti-science, anti truth.

Can we move on and talk about my thoughts
